<br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - SCADA SYSTEM OPERATOR INTERFACE
<br />REPLACEMENT - PROJECT NO. 99-15
<br />Mr. Caldwell advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on June 29,1999, to Precision Control
<br />Systems of Indianapolis, Inc., 7141 West Morris Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, in the amount of
<br />$153,150.00 for the above referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for
<br />Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the
<br />Contract was approved and the appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor
<br />and Materials Payment Bond as submitted were filed.
<br />APPROVAL OF REOUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - CONCRETE
<br />PAVEMENT REPAIRS - PHASE II - PROJECT NO.99-07
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Deb Martin, Engineering, requested permission to advertise for
<br />the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Ms. Martin stated that this project will repair
<br />concrete curbs, sidewalks, driveways, alley approaches, curb ramps and street pavement. Funding
<br />is provided by the Local Roads and Streets Account. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Powell,
<br />seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT 4-H FAIR PARADE
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Code Enforcement, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to
<br />a request as submitted by Mr. Rick Kring, 803 Greenview Avenue, South Bend, Indiana to conduct
<br />the above referred to parade, on August 1, 1999, on the designated route as submitted. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the recommendation was
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE BROOKFIELD FROM LINDEN TO
<br />ORANGE - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering and the Police Department, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Verline Wilson,
<br />220 North Brookfield, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to block parry, on July 31,
<br />1999. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the
<br />recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE 2300 BLOCK OF PEBBLE CREEK
<br />COURT - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering and the Police Department, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Rolland
<br />Cabana, 2353 Pebble Creek, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to block party, on
<br />August 1, 1999. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the
<br />recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE SHERMAN FROM BEALE TO ROSE -
<br />BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering and the Police Department, i4 reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Bill Borders,
<br />946 Roosevelt, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to block party, on August 7,1999.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the recommendation was
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE SOUTH STREET FROM MICHIGAN TO
<br />ST. JOSEPH - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering and the Police Department, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Norman
<br />Northcutt, 115 East South Street, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to block party,
<br />on August 3, 1999. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the
<br />recommendation was approved.
