0 <br />REGULAR MEETING MAY 24, 1999 <br />APPROVE CONSENT TO ANNEXATION AND WAIVER OF RIGHTS TO REMONSTRATE <br />Mr. Powell stated that the Board is in receipt of a Consent to Annexation and Waiver of Right to <br />Remonstrate as submitted by Paul and Geraldine Jonas, Cypress Circle South, South Bend, Indiana. <br />The Consent indicates that in consideration for percussion to tap into the public sanitary sewer system <br />of the City, to provide sanitary sewer service to Cypress Circle South, South Bend, Indiana, (Key # <br />02-1015-031215), the Jonas's waive and release any and all right to remonstrate against or oppose <br />any pending or future annexation of the property by the City of South Bend. Therefore, Mr. Powell <br />made a motion that the Consent be approved. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE CONSENT TO ANNEXATION AND WAIVER OF RIGHTS TO REMONSTRATE <br />Mr. Powell stated that the Board is in receipt of a Consent to Annexation and Waiver of Right to <br />Remonstrate as submitted by Mr. Indukumar Amin. The Consent indicates that in consideration for <br />permission to tap into the public sanitary sewer system of the City, to provide sanitary sewer service <br />to 23040 U.S. 20 West, South Bend, Indiana, (Key # 04-1048-1 049, 1048, 04-1048-1047, 04-1048- <br />1058, 04-1048-1057), Mr. Amin waives and releases any and all right to remonstrate against or <br />oppose any pending or future annexationof the property by the City of South Bend. Therefore, Ms. <br />Roemer made a motion that the Consent be approved. Mr. Powell seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />ACKNOWLEDGMENT LETTER FILED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Jon Hunt, Director, Community and Economic Development stated that <br />various issues would be presented to the Board of Public Works in the future concerning American <br />Home Dreams. Mr. Hunt stated that he is a Board Member of American Home Dreams, and their <br />mission is to build or rehabilitate single-family housing in South Bend's lower income neighborhoods. <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the Acknowledgment <br />Letter was filed. <br />APPROVAL OF RELEASE OF ALL CLAIMS <br />Ms. Marcia Qualls, Traffic Investigator, submitted a Release of All Claims for South Bend Public <br />Transpo, for a paid claim of City owned property. The claim amount of $648.19 has been paid. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Powell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the request to release <br />claims for Transpo was approved. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Powell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the following traffic <br />control devices were approved: <br />New Installation - Handicap <br />606 North Scott <br />Ms. Lafine has met all <br />Sign <br />requirements <br />New Installation - Handicap <br />601 Cottage Grove <br />Mr. Linley has met all <br />Sign <br />requirements <br />APPROVE EXCAVATION BOND <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following <br />Excavation Bond be approved as follows: <br />EXCAVATION BOND <br />Vida Plumbing and Heating Approved May 24, 1999 <br />Mr. Powell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bond be approved as <br />outlined above. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Ms. M. Catherine Roemer, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount of $2,237,699.06 and <br />recommended approval. Additionally, Mr. Juan Manigault, Executive Director, WDS of Northern <br />Indiana, submitted one (1) list containing claims in the amount of $146,979.60 and recommended <br />approval. Ms. Roemer made a motion that the claims be approved and the reports as submitted be <br />
