Jacobsen 1110) <br />Bed Load Capacity: Specifications called for 15 1/4 cubic feet of capacity, the unit bid has only 13 <br />1/3 cubic feet of capacity, which is almost 2 cubic feet less than requested. <br />Frame: Specifications called for a rustproof aluminum frame, the unit bid has a tubular steel frame. <br />The steel frame is not only more corrosive, but also heavier than aluminum. The bid unit is 164 <br />pounds heavier which allows less payload capacity. <br />Dump Body: Specifications called for light -weight aluminum, the unit bid is made of steel. Corrosion <br />and weight is a factor. Specifications also called for reduced speed in reverse, differential guard, and <br />spin -on type oil filter for safety, dependability, and ease of maintenance. Mr. Powell seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - SIX (6) FORD CROWN VICTORIAS <br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Central Services, advised the Board that on February 15, 1999, <br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to vehicles. After reviewing those bids, Mr. <br />�hlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to Jordan Ford, 509 East Jefferson, South <br />Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $20,479.80 each, for a total of $122,878.80. Therefore, Ms. Roemer <br />made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. <br />Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER - SOUTHFIELD RESIDENTIAL LIFT STATION AND FORCE <br />MAIN - PROJECT NO. 98-89 <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that Mr. Toy Villa, Public Construction Manager, has submitted Change Order <br />No. 2 on behalf of Atlas Excavating, Inc., 1270 Washington Avenue, Frankfort, Indiana indicating <br />that the Contract amount be increased $4,265.67 for a new Contract sum including this Change Order <br />in the amount of $116,829.67. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and <br />carried, the Change Order was approved. <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER - FREDERICKSON PARK - LAND SURVEY - ENVIROCORP <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that Ms. Jennifer Mielke, Community & Eocnomic Development, has submitted <br />I, Change Order No. 1 on behalf of Envirocorp, 3600 McGill Street, South Bend, Indiana indicating <br />�+ that the Contract amount be increased $1,495.00 for a new Contract sum including this Change Order <br />in the amount of $33,516.83. Upon a motion made by Mr. Powell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and <br />carried, the Change Order was approved. <br />/APPROVE CHANGE ORDER - CHIPPEWA/MICHIGAN LANDSCAPING - PROJECT NO. 98- <br />88 <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that Mr. Toy Villa, Public Construction Manager, has submitted Change Order <br />No. I on behalf of Northern Indiana Construction, 55803 Dogwood Road, Mishawaka, Indiana <br />indicating that the Contract amount be increased $5,128.50 for a new Contract sum including this <br />
