<br />APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT - NEIGHBORHOOD YOUTH GRANT PROGRAM - SOUTH
<br />BEND HOUSING AUTHORITY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement between the City of South Bend and
<br />the South Bend Housing Authority, 501 Alonzo Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, for youth to
<br />prepare fruit baskets to distribute to fifty-two (52) senior citizens at the Authority's main campus at
<br />Western and Taylor Streets, South Bend, Indiana. Mr. Gilot noted that the Agreement is in the
<br />amount of $719.00. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and
<br />carried, the Agreement was approved and executed.
<br />RATIFY CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - NEAR WESTSIDE NEIGHBORHOOD
<br />PARTNERSHIP CENTER - LIGHTING PROJECT - PROJECT NO. 100-98
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on November 27, 2000, to Michiana
<br />Contracting, Inc., Post Office Box 929, Plymouth, Indiana, in the amount of $17,285.00 for the above
<br />referred to project. A Contract in said amount was being submitted for Board approval. It was noted
<br />this contract was approved December 6, 2000, pursuant to Resolution No. 100-2000. Upon a motion
<br />made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Contract was ratified and the
<br />appropriate Certificate of Insurance was filed.
<br />APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT - STATE/LOCAL PUBLIC AGENCY AGREEMENT -
<br />CONSTRUCTION AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT - EAST BANK WALKWAY - PHASE III -
<br />PROJECT NO. 99-51
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement between the City of South Bend and
<br />the Indiana Department of Transportation for the above referred to project. Mr. Gilot noted that the
<br />Agreement is in the amount of $146,000.00, which is the City of South Bend's 20% share in this
<br />project. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the
<br />Agreement was approved and executed.
<br />RATIFY CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - LABORATORY CASEWORK REPLACEMENT
<br />WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT - PROJECT NO. 100-88
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on November 27, 2000, to Kaser Spraker
<br />Construction, Inc., 25487 West State Road 2, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $97,175.00 for
<br />the above referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for Board ratification.
<br />It was noted this Contract was approved December 11, 2000, pursuant to Resolution No. 100-2000.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Contract was approved
<br />and the appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment
<br />Bond as submitted were filed.
<br />APPROVAL OF GRANT OF LICENSE - INSTALLATION OF ABOVE -GROUND
<br />COMMUNICATION LINES - GENERAL SHEET METAL WORKS
<br />Mr. Gilot stated a Grant of License for the above referred to project was submitted to the Board for
<br />approval. General Sheet Metal Works requested permission to install above -ground communication
<br />lines over and across Main Street between different buildings on real estate owned and used in its
<br />business operations, which are located directly across Main Street from each other. Mr. John Ford,
<br />Attorney for Jones Obenchain, LLP, was present, and submitted a Certificate of Insurance verifying
<br />the existence of commercial general liability insurance coverage for this installation. Mr. James
<br />Axelberg, President, General Sheet Metal Works, Inc. was present, and agreed that if in the future
<br />the lines would need to be removed for future development, his company would not object.
<br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Grant of
<br />License was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF GRANTS OF EASEMENT - EXTENSION OF SANITARY SEWER AND
<br />SOUTH SIDE WATER LINE
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Grants of Easement for
<br />extension of sanitary sewer and south side water line between RLB 1, LLC, 61045 South Main, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, and the City of South Bend, and Ranjin J. Arnim, 60971 U. S. 31 South, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, and the City of South Bend were approved
