<br />Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded

<br />TREATMENT PLANT - KASER SPRAKER CONSTRUCTION - PROJECT NO. 100-88
<br />Mr. Bob Toppel, Environmental Services, advised the Board that on November 13, 2000, bids were
<br />received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Toppel
<br />recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder,
<br />Kaser Spraker Construction, 25487 West State Road 2, South Bend, Indiana in the amount of
<br />$97,175.00. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid
<br />be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BID - MISHAWAKA AVENUE IMPROVEMENTS - CURB WALK BENCH BIKE
<br />RACK AND TREE GRATE - PROJECT NO 100-78
<br />Mr. Marco Mariani, Planning Department, advised the Board that on November 13, 2000, bids were
<br />received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Mariani
<br />recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Rieth
<br />Riley Construction Company, 25200 State Road 23, South Bend, Indiana in the amount of
<br />$34,380.00. Therefore, Mr. Inks made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid
<br />be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Gilot seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVE FINAL CHANGE ORDER AND PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT - 2000
<br />CONCRETE REPAIRS - PHASE II - KANKAKEE VALLEY CONSTRUCTION - PROJECT NO.

<br />Mr. Gilot advised that Mr. Toy Villa, Public Construction Manager, has submitted the Final Change
<br />Order on behalf ofKankakee Valley Construction Company, Post Office Box 1471, LaPorte, Indiana,
<br />indicating that the contract amount be decreased by $7,481.64 for a new contract sum including this
<br />Change Order in the amount of $56,247.24. Additionally submitted was the Project Completion
<br />Affidavit indicating this new final cost. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer
<br />and carried, the Final Change Order and the Project Completion Affidavit were approved subject to
<br />the filing of the appropriate three-year Maintenance Bond.
<br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 (FINAL) AND PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT
<br />CALVERT STREET SEWER - YOUNGS EXCAVATING INC. - PROJECT NO. 100-68
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that Mr. Darrell Baker, Division of Engineering, has submitted Change Order No.
<br />1 (Final) on behalf of Youngs Excavating, Inc., Post Office Box 2766, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />indicating that the contract amount be increased by $617.73 for a new contract sum including this
<br />Change Order in the amount of $57,383.71. Additionally submitted was the Project Completion
<br />Affidavit indicating this new final cost. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer
<br />and carried, Change Order No. 1(Final) and the Project Completion Affidavit were approved subject
<br />to the filing of the appropriate three-year Maintenance Bond.

<br />Mr. Gilot advised that Mr. Toy Villa, Public Construction Manager, has submitted the Project
<br />Completion Affidavit on behalf of Kankakee Valley Construction, Post Office Box 1471, LaPorte,
<br />Indiana, for the above referred to project, indicating a final cost of $41,343.98. Upon a motion made
<br />by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Project Completion Affidavit was approved.
