REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 9, 2000 <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works that the following <br />property is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and is no longer needed by the City of <br />South Bend: <br />1989 LIGHTNING LOADER IFDXK84AIKVA23718 <br />1987 FORD 20YEAR TRASH PACKER 1FDYR8OU3HVA57359 <br />1986 FORD 20 YARD TRASH PACKER 1FDYR8OU6GVA13077 <br />1986 FORD 20 YARD TRASH PACKER 1FDYR80UOGVA13074 <br />1986 FORD 20 YARD TRASH PACKER 1FDYR80U8GVA13078 <br />1986 FORD 20 YARD TRASH PACKER 1FDYR8OU7GVA13072 <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-60 permits and establishes procedure for disposal of <br />personal property which is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and which is no longer <br />needed by the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board ofPublic Works ofthe City of South <br />Bend that the item listed above is no longer needed by the City; are unfit for the purpose for which <br />it was intended and has an estimated value of less than five thousand dollars ($5,000.00). <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said item may be transferred or sold at public auction <br />or private sale, without advertising. Jacob, Clerk <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS SALE OF <br />LIGHTNING LOADERXIVE (5) TRASH PACKERS <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director of Equipment Services, requested <br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the sale of the above referred to equipment. It was <br />noted that the above referred to equipment was declared obsolete pursuant to Resolution No. 105- <br />2000, on October 9, 2000. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Gilot and <br />carried, the request was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT - WORKER'S COMPENSATION HEALTH CARE SERVICES - <br />ST. JOSEPH'S REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER <br />Mr. Gilot stated that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement between the City of South Bend and <br />St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend, Indiana, medical services for workers <br />compensation obligations. Mr. Gilot noted that the contract includes an across-the-board 15% <br />discount, effective August 1, 2000. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. <br />Gilot and carried, the Agreement was approved and executed. <br />APPROVAL OF CONTRACT - SALE OF PERSONAL PROPERTY AT PUBLIC AUCTION - <br />KASER' S AUCTION SERVICE <br />Mr. Gilot stated that the Board is in receipt of a Contract between the City of South Bend and <br />Kaser's Auction Service, North Liberty, Indiana, for liquidation of unclaimed property to be held on <br />October 21, 2000 at 701 West Sample Street, South Bend, Indiana. Mr. Gilot noted that the <br />Agreement is in the amount of 8% commission of items auctioned. Therefore, upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried, the Contract was approved and executed. <br />
