<br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above referred to
<br />Agreements were approved and executed.
<br />APPROVAL OF GRANT AGREEMENT - PROSECUTOR STAFF POSITION - COMMUNITY
<br />ORIENTED PROSECUTION PROGRAM - ST. JOSEPH COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement between the City of South Bend and
<br />the St. Joseph County Commissioners, for one (1) full time prosecutor staff position for the
<br />Community Oriented Prosecution Program assigned to the Michigan Street Commercial Corridor
<br />and other areas. Mr. Gilot noted that the Agreement is in the amount of $30,000.00. Therefore,
<br />upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the Agreement was approved
<br />and executed.
<br />APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT - PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES - DESIGN AND
<br />CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION - LABORATORY CASEWORK REPLACEMENT
<br />PROJECT - DLZ INDIANA
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement between the City of South Bend and
<br />DLZ Indiana, 2211 East Jefferson, South Bend, Indiana, for the above referred to project. Mr. Gilot
<br />noted that the Agreement is in the amount of $8,750.00. Mr. Bob Toppel, Wastewater Treatment
<br />Plant, was present, and stated that this work is required as soon as possible, as there is a presence of
<br />asbestos in the countertops in the laboratory. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded
<br />by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Agreement was approved and executed.
<br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - LINCOLNWAYWEST - PHASE II - ELMER
<br />STREET TO LAFAYETTE STREET - PROJECT NO. 100-57
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on August 21, 2000, to Rieth Riley
<br />Construction, 25200 State Road 23, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $1,595,147.40, which is
<br />the base bid and alternate for the above referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being
<br />submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and
<br />carried, the Contract was approved and the appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond
<br />and Labor and Materials Payment Bond as submitted were filed.
<br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - WESTSIDE PARTNERSHIP CENTER - MEADE
<br />STREET FROM DUNHAM TO FISHER STREET - PROJECT NO. 100-65
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on August 21, 2000, to Kankakee Valley
<br />Construction Company, Inc. Post Office Box 1471, LaPorte, Indiana, in the amount of $48,691.14,
<br />which is the base bid and Alternate A for the above referred to project, a Contract in said amount was
<br />being submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks
<br />and carried, the Contract was approved and the appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance
<br />Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond as submitted were filed.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - HUEY STREET
<br />AND HAMILTON STREET SANITARY SEWER - PROJECT NO.100-28
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl Littrell, City Engineer, requested permission to advertise
<br />for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated that this project will install
<br />108 linear feet of 8 inch water main grade sanitary sewer pipe, 919 linear feet of 8 inch sanitary sewer
<br />pipe, 22 six inch sanitary sewer risers, placement of hot asphaltic concrete, driveway reconstruction,
