REGULAR MEETING JUNE 5, 2000 <br />Ms. Roemer stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted <br />by Mr. Al Bronson, 230 Huey, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on <br />June 10, 2000, from 12:00 p. m. until 8:00 p. m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. <br />Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - FREMONT STREET FROM <br />KENWOOD TO LINDEN AVENUE - BLOCK PARTY <br />Ms. Roemer stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted <br />by Mr. Kathy Bailey, 2502 West Kenwood, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to <br />block party on June 11, 2000, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, <br />seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - FOX STREET FROM MIAMI <br />TO MARINE - BLOCK PARTY <br />Ms. Roemer stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted <br />by Ms. Cindy Prater, 1139 East Fox, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block <br />party on July 4, 2000, from 12:00 p.m. until 11: 00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded <br />by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVE AND/OR RELEASE CONTRACTOR AND EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Mr. Anthony Molnar, Engineer, Division ofEngineering, recommended that the following Contractor <br />and Excavation Bonds be approved and/or released as follows: <br />BOND OF CONTRACTOR <br />August W. Mauer III <br />EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Dominiak Mechanical <br />Approved Effective June 5, 2000 <br />Released Effective June 5, 2000 <br />Ms. Roemer made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bonds be approved <br />and/or released as outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the following Certificate <br />of Insurance was accepted for filing: <br />Bradberry Brothers, Inc. <br />20061 Dice Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />APPROVAL OF INDEMNIFICATION AND HOLD HARMLESS UNDERTAKING - <br />SUNBURST KID' S RACE AT LEIGHTON PLAZA GARAGE - MEMORIAL HOSPITAL <br />Ms. Roemer stated that the above referred Indemnification and Hold Harmless Undertaking had been <br />presented to the Board for approval, as submitted by Mr. Mark Chambers, Memorial Hospital, South <br />Bend, Indiana, to conduct the Sunburst Marathon Kid's Race on June 9, 2000, beginning at 9:00 a.m. <br />at the Leighton Plaza Garage. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and <br />carried, the Indemnification and Hold Harmless Undertaking was approved. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Ms. M. Catherine Roemer, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount of $1,188,735.50 and <br />recommended approval. Additionally, Mr. Juan Manigault, Executive Director, WDS of Northern <br />Indiana, submitted lists containing claims in the amount of $87,252.57 and recommended approval. <br />Community and Economic Development submitted claims on behalf of St. Joseph County Housing <br />1 <br />I <br />I <br />
