<br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONTRACT
<br />The following Community Development Contract was presented to the Board for approval:
<br />Corporation for
<br />Staff Support
<br />CED agrees to pay the City
<br />Entrepreneurial Development
<br />of South Bend $22,800 in
<br />year 2000; $23,500 in year
<br />2001
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the above referred to
<br />Contract was approved and executed.
<br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - GOOD NEIGHBORHOODS/GOOD
<br />NEIGHBORHOODS PUBLIC WORKS CURB AND SIDEWALK PROGRAM - ZONE 2 -
<br />BATTEAST CONSTRUCTION - PROJECT NO. 100-017
<br />Ms. Roemer advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on May 22, 2000, to Batteast
<br />Construction, 430 East LaSalle, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $132,220.00 for Zone 2 for
<br />the above referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for Board approval.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Contract was
<br />approved and the appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials
<br />Payment Bond as submitted were filed.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - PRAST FROM JOHNSON TO
<br />O'BRIEN - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Ms. Roemer stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Ms. Darlene Heron, 2001 Prast, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party
<br />on June 10, 2000 from 5:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by
<br />Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - FREMONT FROM
<br />MARQUETTE TO HAMILTON - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Ms. Roemer stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Mr. Henry Turner, Macedonia MSN Baptist Church, 1862 North Olive, South Bend, Indiana, to
<br />conduct the above referred to block party on June 10, 2000, from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - COTTAGE GROVE FROM
<br />VANBUREN TO CALIFORNIA - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Ms. Roemer stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Mr. Kirk Buck, 824 Cottage Grove, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block
<br />party on June 17, 2000, from 12:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell,
<br />seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - OLIVE STREET FROM
<br />HUMBOLT TO VASSER - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Ms. Roemer stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Ms. Gloria Hamilton, L.A.N.A., 1145 Olive Street, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above
<br />referred to block party on June 10, 2000, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved.
