REGULAR MEETING MAY 1, 2000 <br />as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the <br />recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT 1ND ANNUAL NEAR WESTSIDE <br />NEIGHBORHOOD PRIDE DAY PARADE <br />Ms. Roemer stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to, a <br />request as submitted by Ms. Kathryn Devezin-Joyner, 504 North Johnson, South Bend, Indiana to <br />conduct the above referred to parade, on July 22, 2000, beginning at 9:00 a.m., on the designated <br />route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the <br />recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - USE OF CITY OWNED PROPERTY FOR A <br />COMMUNITY GARDEN - SOUTHEAST YOUTH GARDENING COMMITTEE <br />Ms. Roemer stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Fire Department, Community and Economic Development, Area Plan, Police <br />Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Bill <br />Breidenthal, 409 East Broadway, South Bend, Indiana, to use the southeast corner of Broadway and <br />Marietta (Key Nos.18-7016-0646 and 18-7016-0647) for a garden program for the Southeast Youth <br />Gardening Committee. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the <br />recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - GARBAGE AND RUBBISH SERVICE <br />Ms. Roemer stated that the following Garbage and Rubbish Service application has been received: <br />NAME: Edwin F. Sell, Michiana Recycling & Disposal <br />ADDRESS: (616) 684-3365 <br />Ms. Roemer further advised that a favorable recommendation has been received by the Department <br />of Code Enforcement concerning this application. Further, the Bureau of Sanitation has inspected <br />the vehicle(s) to be used in conjunction with this business, and has found them to be satisfactory. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the above license application <br />was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance of a license. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - GARBAGE AND RUBBISH SERVICE <br />Ms. Roemer stated that the following Garbage and Rubbish Service application has been received: <br />NAME: Tim Hancz, Alt Trust, Inc. <br />ADDRESS: (616) 687-2805 <br />Ms. Roemer further advised that a favorable recommendation has been received by the Department <br />of Code Enforcement concerning this application. Further, the Bureau of Sanitation has inspected <br />the vehicle(s) to be used in conjunction with this business, and has found them to be satisfactory. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the above license application <br />was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance of a license. <br />APPROVAL OF LICENSE APPLICATIONS FOR SCRAP METAL DEALERS/JUNK <br />DEALERS/RECYCLING OPERATIONS/TRANSFER STATIONS <br />Ms. Roemer stated that the following applications have been received: <br />Scrap Management Corporation 3123 South Gertrude <br />C&C Salvage, Inc. 3123 South Gertrude <br />It was noted that favorable recommendations have been received by the Fire Department and the <br />Department of Code Enforcement. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and <br />carried, the License Applications were approved. <br />
