REGULAR MEETING MAY 1, 2000 as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT 1ND ANNUAL NEAR WESTSIDE NEIGHBORHOOD PRIDE DAY PARADE Ms. Roemer stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to, a request as submitted by Ms. Kathryn Devezin-Joyner, 504 North Johnson, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to parade, on July 22, 2000, beginning at 9:00 a.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - USE OF CITY OWNED PROPERTY FOR A COMMUNITY GARDEN - SOUTHEAST YOUTH GARDENING COMMITTEE Ms. Roemer stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Fire Department, Community and Economic Development, Area Plan, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Bill Breidenthal, 409 East Broadway, South Bend, Indiana, to use the southeast corner of Broadway and Marietta (Key Nos.18-7016-0646 and 18-7016-0647) for a garden program for the Southeast Youth Gardening Committee. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - GARBAGE AND RUBBISH SERVICE Ms. Roemer stated that the following Garbage and Rubbish Service application has been received: NAME: Edwin F. Sell, Michiana Recycling & Disposal ADDRESS: (616) 684-3365 Ms. Roemer further advised that a favorable recommendation has been received by the Department of Code Enforcement concerning this application. Further, the Bureau of Sanitation has inspected the vehicle(s) to be used in conjunction with this business, and has found them to be satisfactory. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the above license application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance of a license. APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - GARBAGE AND RUBBISH SERVICE Ms. Roemer stated that the following Garbage and Rubbish Service application has been received: NAME: Tim Hancz, Alt Trust, Inc. ADDRESS: (616) 687-2805 Ms. Roemer further advised that a favorable recommendation has been received by the Department of Code Enforcement concerning this application. Further, the Bureau of Sanitation has inspected the vehicle(s) to be used in conjunction with this business, and has found them to be satisfactory. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the above license application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance of a license. APPROVAL OF LICENSE APPLICATIONS FOR SCRAP METAL DEALERS/JUNK DEALERS/RECYCLING OPERATIONS/TRANSFER STATIONS Ms. Roemer stated that the following applications have been received: Scrap Management Corporation 3123 South Gertrude C&C Salvage, Inc. 3123 South Gertrude It was noted that favorable recommendations have been received by the Fire Department and the Department of Code Enforcement. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the License Applications were approved.
