<br />APPROVAL OF LICENSE APPLICATION FOR A CIRCUS - GEORGE HUBLER
<br />INTERNATIONAL CIRCUS
<br />Ms. Roemer stated that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations from the Police
<br />Department, Engineering Department, Park Department, Code Enforcement, Fire Department and the
<br />Building Department for a License Application for a circus, as submitted by Mr. Orville Thornberg,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the George Hubler International Circus on June 23, 2000, at the 4H
<br />Fairgrounds. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the License
<br />Application was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF LICENSE APPLICATION FOR A CIRCUS - ROYAL AMERICAN CIRCUS,
<br />INC.
<br />Ms. Roemer stated that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations from the Police
<br />Department, Engineering Department, Park Department, Code Enforcement, Fire Department and the
<br />Building Department for a License Application for a circus, as submitted by Mr. Raymond
<br />MacMahon, Sarasota, Florida, to conduct the Royal American Circus on April 21, 2000, at the
<br />National Guard Armory. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the
<br />License Application was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Ms. Roemer stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division ofEngineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Janice
<br />Hall, 608 South St. Joseph Street, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to block party,
<br />on April 29, 2000, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms.
<br />Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - GARBAGE AND RUBBISH SERVICE
<br />Ms. Roemer stated that the following Garbage and Rubbish Service application has been received:
<br />Clark Trash Removal/Michael James Clark 2615 Kenwood Avenue
<br />Ms. Roemer further advised that a favorable recommendation has been received by the Department
<br />of Code Enforcement concerning this application. Further, the Bureau of Sanitation has inspected the
<br />vehicle(s) to be used in conjunction with this business, and has found them to be satisfactory. Upon
<br />a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the License Application was
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF SCRAP METAL DEALERS/JUNK DEALERS/RECYCLING
<br />OPERATIONS/TRANSFER STATIONS
<br />Ms. Roemer stated that the following application has been received:

<br />It was noted that favorable recommendations have been received by the Fire Department and the
<br />Department of Code Enforcement. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and
<br />carried, the License Application was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF STREET NAME CHANGE - DAVIS STREET FROM OLIVE TO GRANT
<br />STREET CHANGED TO "SCHULMAN DRIVE"
<br />Ms. Roemer stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division ofEngineering,
<br />Police Department, Fire Department, Legal Department, Building Commissioner, Code Enforcement,
<br />Park Department and the Street Department, regarding the street name change as referenced above.
<br />It was also noted that the property owner(s) abutting David Street concurred with the
<br />recommendation. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by .Ms. Roemer and carried, the
<br />recommendation was approved.
