f ut f A <br />REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 21 2000 <br />PUBLIC HEARING -MARGARET HEINEK <br />Ms. Roemer advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning Margaret <br />Heinek's application for a transient merchants license for the Michiana Gem & Mineral Society, Inc. <br />and for the South Bend Gem Show. Mrs. Heinek was present to attest for this. Jeremy Barclay <br />stated that a $135.00 license fee is necessary. The Board received favorable recommendations from <br />the Police and Fire Departments, the Building Commissioner, and the City Attorney. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Littrell and seconded by Ms. Roemer, the blanket transient merchant's license was <br />approved. <br />OPEN BIDS -VARIOUS CARS, TRUCKS, AND HEAVY EQUIPMENT <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above -referenced project. The <br />clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br />which were found to be sufficient. Lafayette ■ <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />MacDonald Machinery <br />3953 Ralph Jones Drive <br />South Bend, Indiana 46628 <br />Whiteford Ford Trucks <br />4707 Western Ave. <br />South Bend, Indiana 46619 <br />Aggregate Equipment & Supply <br />2222 West Washington <br />South Bend, Indiana 46628 <br />All bids were then given to Matt Chlebowski for his advisory and recommendation. <br />AWARD BID -BLOWER AND ENGINES REPLACEMENT PROJECT NO. 99-45 <br />Ms. Catherine Roemer advised the Board that on January 14, 2000, bids were received and opened <br />for the above referenced project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. John J. Dillon, Director of <br />Environmental Services, recommends that the Board award the contract to Bowen Engineering the <br />amount $2,049,400.00. IDEM approval has been received for this project. Therefore, Mr. Littrell <br />made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bids be awarded as outlined above. Ms. <br />Roemer seconded the motion which carried. Funding for this source is the State Revolving Fund <br />Loan. <br />
