Mr. Littrell <br />seconded the motion, which carried. <br />AWARD BID AND APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - BLOWER AND ENGINES <br />REPLACEMENT - PROJECT NO. 99-45AND EMERGENCY BLOWER ENGINE <br />INSTALLATION PROJECT <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. John J. Dillon, Director, of the Division of Environmental Services, <br />recommended that the Board accept the low bid of Bowen Engineering, 501 West 84' Drive; <br />Merrillville, Indiana 46410, in the amount of $2,049,400.00, for the blower and engines replacement <br />project, and HRP Construction, Inc., 5777 Cleveland Road, South Bend, Indiana 46624, for the <br />emergency blower engine installation project in the amount of $89,000.00. It was noted that bids for <br />these projects were opened by the Board on January 10, 2000. Mr. Littrell moved separate approval <br />of the awards. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion, which carried. Funding for these projects is <br />through the Sewage Works. <br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR NEAR NORTHWEST PARTNERSHIP <br />CENTER, PORTAGE AVENUE - PROJECT NO. 99-70 <br />Ms. Roemer advised that the Board is in receipt of a contract between Niles Concrete Sawing & <br />Construction, Post Office Box 1299, Niles, Michigan 46614-1830 and the City of South Bend for the <br />above referenced project. It is noted that this contract is in the amount of $45,707.40. It is further <br />noted that services to be provided include sidewalk, curb and approach repairs. Therefore, upon a <br />motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the contract was approved and <br />executed. Funding for this project is the CDBG. <br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR LASALLE AREA NEIGHBORHOOD <br />ASSOCIATION. OLIVE STREET - PROJECT NO. 99-71 <br />Ms. Roemer advised that the Board is in receipt of a contract between Niles Concrete Sawing & <br />Construction, Post Office Box 1299, Niles, Michigan 46614-1830 and the City of South Bend for the <br />above referenced project. It is noted that this contract is in the amount of $50,669.50. It is further <br />noted that services to be provided include sidewalk, curb and approach repairs. Therefore, upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the contract was approved and <br />
