Mr. Littrell seconded the motion, which carried. AWARD BID AND APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - BLOWER AND ENGINES REPLACEMENT - PROJECT NO. 99-45AND EMERGENCY BLOWER ENGINE INSTALLATION PROJECT In a letter to the Board, Mr. John J. Dillon, Director, of the Division of Environmental Services, recommended that the Board accept the low bid of Bowen Engineering, 501 West 84' Drive; Merrillville, Indiana 46410, in the amount of $2,049,400.00, for the blower and engines replacement project, and HRP Construction, Inc., 5777 Cleveland Road, South Bend, Indiana 46624, for the emergency blower engine installation project in the amount of $89,000.00. It was noted that bids for these projects were opened by the Board on January 10, 2000. Mr. Littrell moved separate approval of the awards. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion, which carried. Funding for these projects is through the Sewage Works. APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR NEAR NORTHWEST PARTNERSHIP CENTER, PORTAGE AVENUE - PROJECT NO. 99-70 Ms. Roemer advised that the Board is in receipt of a contract between Niles Concrete Sawing & Construction, Post Office Box 1299, Niles, Michigan 46614-1830 and the City of South Bend for the above referenced project. It is noted that this contract is in the amount of $45,707.40. It is further noted that services to be provided include sidewalk, curb and approach repairs. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the contract was approved and executed. Funding for this project is the CDBG. APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR LASALLE AREA NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION. OLIVE STREET - PROJECT NO. 99-71 Ms. Roemer advised that the Board is in receipt of a contract between Niles Concrete Sawing & Construction, Post Office Box 1299, Niles, Michigan 46614-1830 and the City of South Bend for the above referenced project. It is noted that this contract is in the amount of $50,669.50. It is further noted that services to be provided include sidewalk, curb and approach repairs.
