REGULAR MEETING <br />BID: $135,150.00 <br />OCTOBER 8, 2001 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above bids were referred <br />to the Division of Engineering for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF QUOTATIONS - ORGANIC RESOURCES PAD NO. 2 - STORM SEWER <br />RELOCATION - PROJECT NO. 101-065 <br />Mr. Gilot advised that this was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed Quotations for <br />Environmental Services. The following Quotations were opened at 8:00 a.m. and read: <br />HRP CONSTRUCTION INC. <br />Post Office Box 266 <br />South Bend, Indiana 46624-0266 <br />Quotation was submitted by Mr. Paul J. Fallon <br />QUOTATION: $17,600.00 <br />HERRMAN & GOETZ D/B/A UNDERGROUND SERVICES <br />225 South Lafayette <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />Quotation was submitted by Mr. Jeff Wells <br />QUOTATION: $18,550.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above Quotations were <br />referred to Environmental Services for review and recommendation. <br />AWARD BID - FOUR (4) LIQUID ANTI-ICING/DE-ICING SYSTEMS <br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Central Services, advised the Board that on September 6, 2001, <br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr. <br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsible and responsive <br />bidder, Snow Equipment Sales, Inc., 1273 Air City Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, in the amount of <br />$59,036.00, for four (4) systems. Therefore, Mr. Littrell made a motion that the recommendation <br />be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY - 1522 CATALPA STREET <br />Mr. Gilot advised the Board that on September 24, 2001, one (1) bid was received and opened for <br />the above referred to property. After reviewing the bid, Mr. Larry Magliozzi, Planning Department, <br />recommends that the Board award the sale of 1522 Catalpa Street to Reverend Sam Frison, 312 East <br />Calvert, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $375.00. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that <br />the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Inks seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REOUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED <br />VEHICLES <br />Ms. Kathy Davis, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for <br />the sale of approximately twenty-six (26) abandoned vehicles, which are being stored at Super Auto <br />Salvage Corporation, 3300 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles <br />have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had been run for auto theft and <br />the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and <br />carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REOUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - SODIUM <br />CHLORIDE (ROCK SALT) <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Sam Hensley, Street Commissioner, requested permission to <br />advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to materials for the year 2001-2002. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the request to <br />
