REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 10, 2001
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CHANGE PARKING RESTRICTIONS
<br />TEMPORARILY - SINAI SYNAGOGUE - HIGH HOLY DAYS - 1102 EAST LASALLE
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Neil
<br />Gilbert, Sinai Synagogue, 1102 East LaSalle, South Bend, Indiana, to change parking restrictions
<br />at 1102 East LaSalle in conjunction with High Holy Days on September 18, 19, 26 and 27, 2001.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - WASHINGTON FROM NOTRE
<br />DAME AVENUE TO ST. PETER STREET - CRIME PREVENTION SEMINAR
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Sarah
<br />Bannon, 812 East LaSalle, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on
<br />September 11, 2001, from 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded
<br />by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - WOODWARD AVENUE FROM
<br />YUKON TO HUDSON - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms.
<br />Elaine Schmucker,1228 Woodward Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to
<br />block party on September 8, 2001, from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - THOMAS FROM MAPLE TO
<br />WALNUT - BACK TO SCHOOL BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms.
<br />Ynetter Jones, 1204 Thomas, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on
<br />September 15, 2001, from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded
<br />by Mr. Gilot and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - OPEN AIR STAND
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that the following license application has been received:
<br />NAME: Lions Club of Centre Township
<br />BY: Thomas Lesniak, President
<br />ADDRESS: 61455 Druid Lane
<br />STAND TO LOCATED AT: Scottsdale Mall, Wards Auto Store
<br />DATES: November 27 through December 24, 2001
<br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF: Sale of Christmas Trees
<br />Mr. Gilot further advised that favorable recommendations have been received from the Police
<br />Department, Department of Code Enforcement, and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for the above
<br />application. Additionally provided with the application was a letter of permission from the property
<br />owner. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above license
<br />application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance.
<br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 49-2001 - ADOPTING A WRITTEN FISCAL PLAN AND
<br />ESTABLISHING A POLICY FOR THE PROVISION OF SERVICES TO AN ANNEXATION
<br />AREA IN GERMAN TOWNSHIP (NORTH OLIVE 2 ANNEXATION AREA)
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the following Resolution was
<br />adopted by the Board of Public Works:
