REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 13, 2001 Eddie Miller, Faith Apostolic Church,1318 Lincolnway West, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to event on August 11, 2001, from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - MICHIGAN STREET FROM COLFAX TO DRIVEWAY INTO PARKING LOT AT LASALLE BUILDING - "FRIDAYS BY THE FOUNTAIN" CONCERT AT MORRIS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Susan Halteman, Morris Performing Arts Center, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to event on August 17, 2001, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - PARKOVASH FROM HILLCREST TO LAFAYETTE - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Al Kirsits, 722 Marquette, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on August 26, 2001, from 1:00 p.m. until 5 :00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS - GARBAGE AND RUBBISH SERVICE Mr. Gilot stated that the following Garbage and Rubbish Service applications have been received: NAME: City of South Bend Solid Waste Department ADDRESS: 3113 Riverside Drive NAME: Clark's Trash Removal ADDRESS: 2615 Kenwood Avenue Mr. Gilot further advised that a favorable recommendation has been received by the Department of Code Enforcement concerning these applications. Further, the Bureau of Sanitation has inspected the vehicle(s) to be used in conjunction with these businesses, and has found them to be satisfactory. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above license applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance of a license. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION -TO ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY - INSTALLATION OF SIGN - 706 EAST JEFFERSON Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Building Department, Fire Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kuharic, 706 East Jefferson, South Bend, Indiana, to install a sign at 706 East Jefferson. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF LICENSE APPLICATION - CARNIVAL/CIRCUS - GOOD TIME AMUS INC. Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department, Code Enforcement, Fire Department, Building Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Don Williams, Post Office Box 316, Rolling Prairie, to conduct the above referred to circus/carnival on August 11 and 12, 2001, at Potowatomi Zoo. A Certificate of Insurance was received, but did not contain the Board of Parks/Park Commissioners or the City of South Bend as additional insured. In addition, the bodily injury and property damage amount was only $1,000.00 per claim. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - JACKSON ROAD FROM YORK TO IRONWOOD - 2001 PULSEFEST Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Mark Durocher, LeSEA Radio, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to event on August 18, u 1
