REGULAR MEETING JUNE 25, 2001 It was noted that favorable recommendations have been received by the Fire Department and the Department of Code Enforcement. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the License Applications were approved. It was noted that the following Scrap Metal Dealers/Junk Dealers/Recycling Operations/Transfer Station License Applications were tabled, pending further information. These sites are close to or are on City of South Bend wellfields. The City of South Bend will meet with these businesses to discuss the matter: Indiana Auto Parts South Bend Scrap 3300 South Main 3113 South Gertrude South Bend, Indiana South Bend, Indiana Scrap Management Weaver Truck & Equipment 3123 South Gertrude 3605 South Gertrude South Bend, Indiana South Bend, Indiana Steve & Gene's Auto Truck Salvage C&L Salvage 3109 Gertrude 3123 South Gertrude South Bend, Indiana South Bend, Indiana Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above referred to License Applications were tabled. APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - OPEN AIR STAND Mr. Gilot advised that the following license application has been received: NAME: Indigo Inc. T-Shirts BY: George Andrew Doolittle ADDRESS: 811 East 4t' Street STAND TO LOCATED AT: Michigan/U.S. 31 DATES: June, July, August - (1) time per month FOR THE PURPOSE OF: Sale of T-Shirts Mr. Gilot further advised that favorable recommendations have been received from the Police Department, Department of Code Enforcement, and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for the above application. Additionally provided with the application was a letter of permission from the property owner. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried, the above license application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance. It was noted that the Licensing Office should advise the business that their display is not to encroach into the public right of way. In addition, construction will begin in this area in August, and their sales may be limited due to the construction. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - FOX FROM MIAMI TO MARINE - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Cindy Prater, 1139 East Fox, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on July 4, 2001, until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - HOLIDAY DRIVE FROM COLFAX TO WILSON - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. John McNamara, 1222 South Holiday Drive, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on August 11, 2001, from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
