Inks, Member <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - CURB <br />SIDEWALK AND DRIVE APPROACH REPAIRS - MISHAWAKA AVENUE - PROJECT NO <br />101-28 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Hesham Khalil, Division of Engineering, requested permission <br />to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Khalil stated that this project <br />will construct new curbs, sidewalks and drive approaches on Mishawaka Avenue. Therefore, upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the request to advertise for the <br />receipt of bids was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST FOR INSTALLATION OF DRIVEWAY - TUDOR LANE <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Charles Kalwitz, 3415 South Ironwood Drive, South Bend, Indiana, <br />requested permission to install a standard curb cut for a private drive on Tudor Lane, which is the <br />east right of way line of Woodmont Avenue to the end of the street for a distance of 115 feet long <br />and 50 feet wide. The property owner will cover the costs of expenses and will maintain the area <br />as well. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried the request was <br />approved. <br />APPROVAL OF OCCUPANCY BOND - SOUTH LAFAYETTE STREET FROM NAVARRE <br />STREET NORTH - CASTEEL CONSTRUCTION <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, an Occupancy Bond was <br />approved for Casteel Construction to occupy a portion of the east parking lane, tree lawn and <br />sidewalk along South Lafayette Street from Navarre Street north to the north entry drive of the <br />garage, for the purpose of staging construction materials and equipment in the construction of the <br />Memorial Helistop at the parking garage for a period of ninety (90) days. The approval was subject <br />to the criteria of keeping traffic open and flowing in this area. <br />APPROVAL OF RELEASE OF UTILITY EASEMENT <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl Littrell, City Engineer, recommended on behalf of Danch, <br />Hamer & Associates, Inc., to release the utility easements along the 3500 and 3600 blocks of Kale <br />Street. Mr. Littrell noted there are no public sewer or water facilities in the portion of Kale Street <br />proposed for vacation.
