REGULAR MEETING JUNE 11, 2001 Air Street Sweeper $108,142.00 Special Order Chassis $ 3,956.00 Deduct for International Harvester Model4700 $ 3,500.00 Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the above bids were referred to Central Services and the Street Department for review and recommendation. OPENING OF BIDS - ONE (1) MORE OR LESS, NEW AERIAL PLATFORM TRUCK This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to equipment. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bid was opened and publicly read: DELPHI BODY WORKS, INC. 313 South Washington Street Delphi, Indiana 46923 Bid was signed by Mr. Richard Bradshaw Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed Ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted .B 2001 F450 Super Duty 2900 Challenger Tower and Steel Body $75,248.00 Options as Submitted Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above bid was referred to Central Services for review and recommendation. DENY REQUEST - TO CLOSE STREET - 200 BLOCK OF MICHIGAN STREET - STATE THEATER FUNDRAISER Mr. Gilot stated that a favorable recommendation has been received by the Division of Engineering in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Michelle Donovan, State Theater, 214 '/2 South Michigan, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to fundraiser, on June 21, 2001, beginning at 5:00 p.m. The South Bend Police Department did not submit a recommendation. The Police Department noted that there have been problems in this area in the past. The Board discussed the request, and upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the request was denied, due to non-support from the Police Department, the area neighbors and Robertson's apartment complex. APPROVE CLAIMS Ms. M. Catherine Roemer, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount of $2,687,335.40 and recommended approval. Ms. Roemer made a motion that the claims be approved and the reports as submitted be filed. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - BW BUSINESS PARK SANITARY SEWER AND WATER MAIN EXTENSION - SMALL, INC. - PROJECT NO. 101-024 Mr. Gilot advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on June 4, 2001, to Small, Inc., 25190 State Road 4, North Liberty, Indiana, in the amount of $803,791.00 for the above referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Contract was approved and the appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond as submitted were filed.
