<br />Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the Board send an unfavorable recommendation to the
<br />Common Council concerning this Vacation Petition. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which
<br />carried.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT 2001 CRIME STOPPERS
<br />MOONLIGHT WALK
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as
<br />submitted by Mr. Michael Shlakman, Crime Stoppers, 701 West Sample, South Bend, Indiana, to
<br />conduct the above referred to walk, on July 12, 2001, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., on the designated
<br />route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the
<br />recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT MICHIANA AIDS WALK 2001
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as
<br />submitted by Mr. Michael Kennedy, AIDS Ministries, Post Office Box 4531, South Bend, Indiana
<br />to conduct the above referred to walk, on September 23, 2001, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., on
<br />the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and
<br />carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT THE KEYBANK SALMON CHASE
<br />5K AND 10 RUNS AND 5K WALKS
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as
<br />submitted by Ms. Karen Bonta, Madison Center and Hospital, 403 East Madison, South Bend,
<br />Indiana to conduct the above referred to runs and walks, on September 29, 2001, from 7:30 a.m. to
<br />11:00 p.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by
<br />Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT SUNBURST MARATHON
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as
<br />submitted by Ms. Liz Peralta, Memorial Hospital, 615 North Michigan, South Bend, Indiana to
<br />conduct the above referred to run, on June 9, 2001, beginning at 7:00 a.m., on the designated route
<br />as submitted. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the
<br />recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - PARK LANE FROM
<br />LAFAYETTE TO MAIN STREET - ICE CREAM SOCIAL
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms.
<br />Susan Goldstein, Madison PTO, 832 North Lafayette, South Bend, Indiana, to close Park Lane from
<br />Lafayette to Main Street, to conduct a block party on May 18, 2001, from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
<br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CHANGE PARKING RESTRICTIONS - WALL
<br />STREET AND TWYCKENHAM DRIVE - JOHN ADAMS HIGH SCHOOL
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms.
<br />Cheryl Fleming, Adams High School, 808 South Twyckenham, South Bend, Indiana to temporarily
<br />change parking restrictions on Wall Street and Twyckenham Drive on May 31, 2001, for the Senior
<br />Honors Program and on June 10, 2001, for the Commencement Program. Upon a motion made by
<br />Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION TO ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY -
<br />INSTALLATION OF AWNING - 4002 WESTERN AVENUE
