<br />motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE VARIOUS STREETS - 2001 ETHNIC
<br />FESTIVAL
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms.
<br />Teresa McClure, South Bend Park Department, to close various street in conjunction with the 2001
<br />Ethnic Festival on June 15 through 17, 2001. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr.
<br />Gilot and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVE RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT MARCH - CHURCH OF THE NATIONAL
<br />KNIGHTS
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that the Police Department and Engineering Division have reviewed the above
<br />referred to request submitted by Reverend Richard Loy, Church of the National Knights, Post Office
<br />Box 4731, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct a march on Mary 5, 2001, from 1:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.,
<br />on the designated route as submitted. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation
<br />be accepted and the request be approved. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT WALK AGAINST VIOLENCE - PENN
<br />HIGH SCHOOL
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as
<br />submitted by Mr. David Zuidema, Penn High School, 56100 Bittersweet Road, Mishawaka, Indiana
<br />to conduct the above referred to march, on April 21, 2001, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., on the
<br />designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried,
<br />the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT WALK AGAINST VIOLENCE -
<br />LASALLE HIGH SCHOOL
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as
<br />submitted by Mr. Conrad Damian, LaSalle High School, 2701 West Elwood, South Bend, Indiana
<br />to conduct the above referred to walk, on April 21, 2001, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., on the
<br />designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried,
<br />the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT WALKAMERICA 2001
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as
<br />submitted by Ms. Carol Hummer, March of Dimes, 501 East Monroe, South Bend, Indiana to
<br />conduct the above referred to walk, on April 28, 2001, from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., on the
<br />designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried,
<br />the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT THIRD ANNUAL SOUTH
<br />BEND/MICHIANA LUPUS WALK
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as
<br />submitted by Ms. Sara Irons, Michigan Lupus Foundation, 2653 Redfield Road, Niles, Michigan to
<br />conduct the above referred to walk, on May 12, 2001, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., on the
<br />designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried,
<br />the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CHANGE PARKING RESTRICTIONS -
<br />BARTLETT STREET - CABIN DAYS PROGRAM - CENTER FOR HISTORY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr.
<br />Travis Childs, Center for History, 808 West Washington, South Bend, Indiana to change parking
<br />restrictions on Bartlett Street from Riverside Drive to Michigan, to designate "No Parking Except
