oars r REGULAR MEETING MARCH 26, 2001 AWARD BID - TWO HUNDRED (200) TRIMBLE G.P.S. VEHICLES PACKAGES AND ONE (1) MANUAL Captain Gary Horvath, Police Department, advised the Board that on March 12, 2001, bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, Captain Horvath recommends that the Board award the contract to the sole bidder Motorola Inc., 401 Institute, Valparaiso, Indiana in the amount of $133,671.00. Therefore, Ms. Roemer made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Gilot seconded the motion which carried. APPROVAL OF REOUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - TWO (2) MORE OR LESS, HEAVY DUTY TWO TON CREW TRUCKS In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, requested permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to vehicles, for use by the Sewer Department. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. APPROVAL OF REOUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - SIX (6) MORE OR LESS, REGENERATIVE AIR STREET SWEEPERS In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, requested permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to vehicles, for use by the Street Department. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. APPROVAL OF REOUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS/TITLE SHEET - RUM VILLAGE NEIGHBORHOOD PARTNERSHIP CENTER - KENDALL STREET - PROJECT NO.100-70 In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Jennifer Mielke, Planner, Community Development, requested permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated that this project will improve the curbs and sidewalks on Kendall Street between Indiana Avenue and Calvert Street in the Rum Village area. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. In addition, the Title Sheet for the above referred to project was approved. APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES Mrs. Kathy Davis, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale of approximately seventeen (17) abandoned vehicles, which are being stored at Super Auto Salvage Corporation, 3300 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners and lien -holders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the above request was approved. APPROVE CHANGE ORDER - SECONDARY CLARIFIER IMPROVEMENTS - BOWEN ENGINEERING CORPORATION - PROJECT NO. 98-18 Mr. Gilot advised that Mr. Jack Dillon, Director, Environmental Services, has submitted Change Order No. 6 on behalf of Bowen Engineering Corporation, 1260 Summit Street, Crown Point, Indiana, indicating that the Contract amount be increased $50,473.00 for a new Contract sum including this Change Order in the amount of $5,722,076.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Change Order was approved. APPROVE CHANGE ORDER - DEMOLITION OF STUDEBAKER BUILDING 69 - 730 UNITED DRIVE - PROJECT NO, 100-87 Mr. Gilot advised that Mr. Toy Villa, Public Construction Manager, has submitted Change Order No 2. On behalf of Warner and Sons indicating that the Contract completion date be extended by five days with no monetary change to the Contract. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried, the Change Order was approved.
