VEHICLES PACKAGES AND ONE <br />(1) MANUAL <br />Captain Gary Horvath, Police Department, advised the Board that on March 12, 2001, bids were <br />received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, Captain <br />Horvath recommends that the Board award the contract to the sole bidder Motorola Inc., 401 <br />Institute, Valparaiso, Indiana in the amount of $133,671.00. Therefore, Ms. Roemer made a motion <br />that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Gilot seconded <br />the motion which carried. <br />APPROVAL OF REOUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - TWO (2) MORE <br />OR LESS, HEAVY DUTY TWO TON CREW TRUCKS <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, requested <br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to vehicles, for use by the Sewer <br />Department. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, <br />the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REOUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - SIX (6) MORE <br />OR LESS, REGENERATIVE AIR STREET SWEEPERS <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, requested <br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to vehicles, for use by the Street <br />Department. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, <br />the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REOUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS/TITLE SHEET - <br />RUM VILLAGE NEIGHBORHOOD PARTNERSHIP CENTER - KENDALL STREET - <br />PROJECT NO.100-70 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Jennifer Mielke, Planner, Community Development, requested <br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated <br />that this project will improve the curbs and sidewalks on Kendall Street between Indiana Avenue and <br />Calvert Street in the Rum Village area. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by <br />Ms. Roemer and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. In addition, <br />the Title Sheet for the above referred to project was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED <br />VEHICLES <br />Mrs. Kathy Davis, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for <br />the sale of approximately seventeen (17) abandoned vehicles, which are being stored at Super Auto <br />Salvage Corporation, 3300 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles <br />have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had been run for auto theft and <br />the owners and lien -holders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Ms. Roemer <br />and carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER - SECONDARY CLARIFIER IMPROVEMENTS - BOWEN <br />ENGINEERING CORPORATION - PROJECT NO. 98-18 <br />Mr. Gilot advised that Mr. Jack Dillon, Director, Environmental Services, has submitted Change <br />Order No. 6 on behalf of Bowen Engineering Corporation, 1260 Summit Street, Crown Point, <br />Indiana, indicating that the Contract amount be increased $50,473.00 for a new Contract sum <br />including this Change Order in the amount of $5,722,076.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, <br />seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Change Order was approved. <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER - DEMOLITION OF STUDEBAKER BUILDING 69 - 730 <br />UNITED DRIVE - PROJECT NO, 100-87 <br />Mr. Gilot advised that Mr. Toy Villa, Public Construction Manager, has submitted Change Order No <br />2. On behalf of Warner and Sons indicating that the Contract completion date be extended by five <br />days with no monetary change to the Contract. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by <br />Mr. Gilot and carried, the Change Order was approved. <br />
