<br />REGULAR MEETING JUNE 24, 2002
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the above referred to
<br />Agreements were approved and executed, subject to financing.
<br />FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE A STREET
<br />Mr. Gilot indicated that the Common Council has submitted to the Board a Vacation Petition as
<br />completed by Mr. Thomas Veldman, BW Business Park, LC, 7101 Vorden Parkway, South Bend,
<br />Indiana to vacate the following alley:
<br />Vorden Court from the east line of Lot 5, BW Business Park Subdivision, recorded March 16,
<br />2001 as instrument number 0111166, to the end of the street for a distance of 700 feet and a
<br />width of 60 feet. The vacation includes the 60 foot radius cul-de-sac, being a part of BW
<br />Business Park Subdivision, City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana.
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations concerning this Vacation
<br />Petition from the Area Plan Commission, Police Department, Fire Department, Sanitation, Department
<br />of Economic Development and the Department of Public Works. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion
<br />that the Board send a favorable recommendation to the Common Council concerning this Vacation
<br />Petition. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - O'BRIEN FROM HUMBOLDT
<br />TO ELWOOD - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Cindy
<br />Jones, 1310 North O'Brien, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on July
<br />4, 2002, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks
<br />and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - FREMONT FROM BULLA TO
<br />KELLER - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. John
<br />Binion, 1634 Fremont, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on July 4,
<br />2002, from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and
<br />carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - CLEVELAND AVENUE FROM
<br />VASSAR TO HUMBOLDT - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Jamie
<br />McKinstry, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on June 29, 2002, from
<br />12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried,
<br />the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - HOWARD FROM WHITE OAK
<br />TO OAK RIDGE - KIDDIE PARADE
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. John
<br />Roos, 1730 Oak Park Drive, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to event on July 4,
<br />2002, from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and
<br />carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - LONGFELLOW FROM
<br />MISHAWAKA AVENUE TO SUNNYSIDE - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Susan
<br />Mazurkiewicz, 1220 Longfellow, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party
<br />on June 22, 2002, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by
<br />Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved.
