♦ k. REGULAR MEETING JUNE 24, 2002 Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the above referred to Agreements were approved and executed, subject to financing. FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE A STREET Mr. Gilot indicated that the Common Council has submitted to the Board a Vacation Petition as completed by Mr. Thomas Veldman, BW Business Park, LC, 7101 Vorden Parkway, South Bend, Indiana to vacate the following alley: Vorden Court from the east line of Lot 5, BW Business Park Subdivision, recorded March 16, 2001 as instrument number 0111166, to the end of the street for a distance of 700 feet and a width of 60 feet. The vacation includes the 60 foot radius cul-de-sac, being a part of BW Business Park Subdivision, City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. Mr. Gilot advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations concerning this Vacation Petition from the Area Plan Commission, Police Department, Fire Department, Sanitation, Department of Economic Development and the Department of Public Works. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the Board send a favorable recommendation to the Common Council concerning this Vacation Petition. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - O'BRIEN FROM HUMBOLDT TO ELWOOD - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Cindy Jones, 1310 North O'Brien, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on July 4, 2002, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - FREMONT FROM BULLA TO KELLER - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. John Binion, 1634 Fremont, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on July 4, 2002, from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - CLEVELAND AVENUE FROM VASSAR TO HUMBOLDT - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Jamie McKinstry, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on June 29, 2002, from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - HOWARD FROM WHITE OAK TO OAK RIDGE - KIDDIE PARADE Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. John Roos, 1730 Oak Park Drive, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to event on July 4, 2002, from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - LONGFELLOW FROM MISHAWAKA AVENUE TO SUNNYSIDE - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Susan Mazurkiewicz, 1220 Longfellow, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on June 22, 2002, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved.
