<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above bids were referred
<br />to the Century Center and Division of Engineering for review and recommendation.
<br />AWARD BID - ONE (1) SINGLE AXLE DUMP TRUCK WITH SNOW AND SALT
<br />EQUIPMENT
<br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on May 13, 2002,
<br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr.
<br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest, responsive and responsible
<br />bidder Wabash Sterling,1301 South Holt Road, Indianapolis, Indiana, in the amount of $63,120.00,
<br />which is the base bid of $48,660.00 plus options. Therefore, Mr. Inks made a motion that the
<br />recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded the
<br />motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BID - ROBERT BOSCH CORPORATION FACILITIES UPGRADE - PHASE II -
<br />PROJECT NO. 102-012
<br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, City Engineer, advised the Board that on April 8, 2002, bids were received and
<br />opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Littrell recommends that
<br />the Board award the contract to the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder Ziolkowski
<br />Construction, 1105 South Lafayette, South Bend, Indiana in the amount of $5,555,069.00, which is
<br />the base bid plus alternates 1 and 2. Therefore, Mr. Inks made a motion that the recommendation
<br />be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which
<br />carried.
<br />AWARD BID - LINDEN AVENUE STREET IMPROVEMENTS - PROJECT NO. 102-001
<br />Mr. David Koppana, Engineer, advised the Board that, bids were received and opened for the above
<br />referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Koppana recommends that the Board award the
<br />contract to the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder, Selge Construction, 2833 South 1 lt" Street,
<br />Niles, Michigan, in the amount of $98,869.30. Therefore, Mr. Littrell made a motion that the
<br />recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Inks seconded the
<br />motion which carried.
<br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER - BLOWER AND ENGINE REPLACEMENTS - WASTEWATER
<br />TREATMENT PLANT - BOWEN ENGINEERING CORPORATION - PROJECT NO. 99-45
<br />Mr. Littrell advised that Mr. Jack Dillon, Director, Environmental Services, has submitted Change
<br />Order No. 2 on behalf of Bowen Engineering Corporation, 1260 Summit Street, Crown Point,
<br />Indiana indicating that the Contract amount be increased $50,576.36 for a new Contract sum
<br />including this Change Order in the amount of $2,157,855.36. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell,
<br />seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the Change Order was approved.
<br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER - PUBLIC WORKS SERVICE CENTER - KEN HERCEG &
<br />ASSOCIATES - PROJECT NO. 101-01
<br />Mr. Carl Littrell, City Engineer, has submitted Change Order No. 2 on behalf of Ken Herceg &
<br />Associates, 211 West Washington, South Bend, Indiana indicating that the Contract amount be
<br />increased $124,618.00 for a new Contract sum including this Change Order in the amount of
<br />$6,728,808.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the Change
<br />Order was approved.
<br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER - HEADWORKS FACILITY - WASTEWATER TREATMENT
<br />PLANT - SUPERIOR CONSTRUCTION - PROJECT NO. 98-026
<br />Mr. Littrell advised that Mr. Jack Dillon, Director, Environmental Services, has submitted Change
<br />Order No. 6 on behalf of Superior Construction Company, Inc., 2045 East Dunes Highway, Gary,
<br />Indiana indicating that the Contract amount be increased $16,623.00 for a new Contract sum
