This inflow from the creek was causing a dry
weather diversion at the permitted CSO 418 (Sample/Lincolnway). Due to the urgency to stop the
dry weather diversion, the City responded by hiring a contractor to bypass pump the creek around
the break. Emergency quotations were asked for work to fill in the void created by inflow and repair
the manhole where the water was entering. In response to this need, quotes were solicited on
February 15, 2002. The Department of Engineering opened and read quotes for the above -mentioned
project, and were opened on an emergency basis, as follows:
Youngs Excavating
$72,843.00
Underground Services
$77,430.00
HRP Construction
$81,050.00
Mr. Durr recommended award of a contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Youngs
Excavating, in the amount of $72,843.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr.
Littrell and carried, the above award was approved.
1
C
