<br />APPROVAL OF APPRAISAL PROPOSAL - SOUTHEAST DEVELOPMENT AREA
<br />FEASIBILITY STUDY - JEROME E. MICHAELS/R.E. PITTS & ASSOCIATES
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that the Board is in receipt of a Proposal between the City of South Bend and
<br />Jerome Michaels, MAI, 116 South St. Louis Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana (not to exceed
<br />$3,000.00) and R.E Pitts & Associates, 50580 Woodbury Way, Granger, Indiana (not to exceed
<br />$26,500.00), for appraisal services for the acquisition and disposition of properties related to the
<br />above referred to project. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and
<br />carried, the Proposal was approved and executed.
<br />APPROVAL OF TITLE SERVICES - SOUTHEAST DEVELOPMENT AREA FEASIBILITY
<br />STUDY - MERIDIAN TITLE CORPORATION
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement between the City of South Bend and
<br />Meridian Title Corporation, 202 South Michigan, South Bend, Indiana, for title services for thirty-
<br />eight properties related to the above referred to project. Mr. Gilot noted that the Agreement is in the
<br />amount of $4,750.00. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and
<br />carried, the Agreement was approved and executed.
<br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY - 1802 LONGLEY STREET
<br />In a letter to the Board, Pastor Eddie Miller, Faith Apostolic Temple,1318 Lincolnway West, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, indicated that he was interested in purchasing City -owned property at 1802 Longley
<br />Street. Mr. Larry Magliozzi, Community & Economic Development, recommends that this
<br />property not be sold at this time due to the long-range plans to incorporate the rail corridor into the
<br />expanding bike and trail network that currently exist along the river. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Gilot, seconded by Mr. Mr. Littrell, the recommendation to deny the request was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF LICENSE RENEWAL FOR MASSAGE ESTABLISHMENT - THE SPA AT
<br />COLFAX
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Fire Department,
<br />Building Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as
<br />submitted by Beth Hamilton, 17722 Bridgeview Drive, South Bend, Indiana, for a License
<br />Application for Massage Establishment at 224 West Colfax, South Bend, Indiana. Upon a motion
<br />made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried, the License Application was approved.
<br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO.3-2002 - RECOMMENDATION FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE ST.
<br />JOSEPH COUNTY WELLHEAD PROTECTION PROGRAM
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the following Resolution was
<br />adopted by the Board of Public Works:
<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
<br />RECOMMENDATION FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE ST. JOSEPH
<br />COUNTY WELLHEAD PROTECTION PROGRAM
<br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend is the entity responsible
<br />for the South Bend Water Works;
<br />WHEREAS, on October 13,1998, the St. Joseph County Council approved Ordinance 103-
<br />98 amending Title 24 of the St Joseph County Code, by adding thereto Chapter 24.24, Wellhead
<br />Protection;
<br />WHEREAS, on October 20, 1998, the Board of Commissioners for St Joseph County
<br />approved Ordinance 103-98, an Ordinance amending Title 24 of the St. Joseph County Code by
<br />adding thereto Chapter 24.24, Wellhead Protection;
<br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend Water Works has its own Wellhead Protection Program
<br />and WHP area delineation which have been approved the State of Indiana; and
<br />WHEREAS, the inspections by the health officer provided for in the County Ordinance,
<br />Chapter 24.24, would benefit the Wellhead Protection Program of the City of South Bend.
