REGULAR MEETING <br />WALSH & KELLY, INC. <br />24358 State Road 23 <br />South Bend, Indiana 46614 <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />QUOTATION: $137,335.95 <br />SELGE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY INC. <br />2833 South I I" Street <br />Niles, Michigan 49120 <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />QUOTATION: $71,567.45 <br />AUGUST 25, 2003 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried, the above quotations were <br />referred to the Division of Engineering for review and recommendation. After reviewing those <br />quotations, Mr. Jason Durr, Engineering, recommends that the Board award the contract to Selge <br />Construction Company in the amount of $71,567.45. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the <br />recommendation be accepted and the quotation be awarded as outlined above, subject to financing. <br />Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS TRANS TECH <br />INDUSTRIAL DRIVE PROJECT - PROJECT NO 103-056 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Jason Durr, Engineering, requested permission to advertise for <br />the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, <br />seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. <br />AWARD BID - ONE (1) 2003 3/4 TON EXTENDED CAB WITH SERVICE BODY - WATER <br />WORKS <br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Central Services, advised the Board that on August 11, 2003, <br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr. <br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsible and responsive <br />bidder, Terry's Ford Lincoln Mercury, 363 North Harlem Avenue, Peotone, Illinois, in the amount <br />of $25,004.11. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the <br />bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - TWO (2) TWO TON VIBRATORY ROLLERS - STREET DEPARTMENT <br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Central Services, advised the Board that on August 11, 2003, <br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr. <br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsible and responsive <br />bidder, MacDonald Machinery, 3911 Limestone Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana, in the amount of <br />$30,780.00. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid <br />be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - ONE (1) SINGLE AXLE DUMP TRUCK WITH 14' BED CODE <br />ENFORCEMENT <br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Central Services, advised the Board that on August 11, 2003, <br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr. <br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsible and responsive <br />bidder, Hill Truck Sales, 1011 West Sample Street, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of <br />$52,537.00. Mr. Chlebowski noted that the International Model 4300 does not have the C - channel <br />reinforced frame with 3,000,000 in. lbs. RBM (Resisting Bending Moment) as specified. The <br />heaviest available frame for this model is a single channel frame with 2,526,000 in. lbs. RBM. Wise <br />International did submit a second bid using a Model 7500 which does have the C - channel <br />reinforced frame.
