<br />PUBLIC AGENDA SESSION AUGUST 21, 2003
<br />2003, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and
<br />carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - HAWTHORNE FROM
<br />WILSON TO WASHINGTON.- BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic & Lighting, Police
<br />Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Kathleen
<br />Kusbach, 128 South Hawthorne Drive, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block
<br />party on August 24, 2003, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot,
<br />seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />RATIFY RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - DALE FROM DAYTON TO MILTON -
<br />BIRTHDAY PARTY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic & Lighting, Police
<br />Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Ramon
<br />Solis, 928 East Dayton, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to event on August 16,
<br />2003, from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell
<br />and carried, the recommendation was ratified.
<br />DENY APPLICATION FOR OPEN AIR STAND - PA-TOYAS BOUTIQUE
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that the following license application has been received:

<br />Sale of shirts, combs, candy, misc. items.
<br />Mr. Gilot further advised that an unfavorable recommendations was received from the Department
<br />of Code Enforcement for the above application, due to the location of the sale, which may cause
<br />traffic problems. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the above
<br />license application was denied. The Legal Department will forward a letter to this business.
<br />PUBLIC HEARING - LICENSE APPLICATION FOR TRANSIENT MERCHANT - GALLERY
<br />GRAPHICS
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning a License
<br />Application for a Transient Merchant, as submitted by Mr. Kink Dove, 74 Logan Lane, Atherton,
<br />California, for the sale of printing presses and printing equipment at Gallery Graphics, 2920 West
<br />Sample, South Bend, Indiana, on August 14, 2003. Favorable recommendations were received from
<br />the Fire Department. No recommendations were received from the Police Department or the
<br />Building Department.
<br />There being no one else present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, the Public
<br />Hearing was closed. Therefore, upon a motion made by , seconded by and carried, the License
<br />Application was approved.
<br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - LASALLE AREA NEIGHBORHOOD PARTNERSHIP CENTER -
<br />2700-2900 HUMBOLDT.
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that the Title Sheet for the above referred to project was being presented at this
<br />time for execution. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the
<br />above referred to Title Sheet was approved and signed.
<br />The Clerk was instructed to post the agenda and notify the media and other persons who have
<br />requested notice of the meeting agenda. No other business came before the Board. The meeting
<br />adjourned at 8:47 a.m.
