0315 REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 25, 2003 Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Alberto Vitale, 613 East Eckman, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on September 7, 2003, from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - DALE FROM EWING TO FOX - REHEARSAL DINNER FOR WEDDING Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic & Lighting, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Kathleen Mahoney, 929 East Ewing, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to event on September 5, 2003, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. DENY REQUEST - TO CLOSE STREET - BURNS AVENUE FROM ST VINCENT TO SOUTH BEND AVENUE - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that unfavorable recommendations have been received by the Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Leon Marshall, 1022 North Burns, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on August 306, 2003, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was denied, because of safety reasons. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - ST. LOUIS FROM JEFFERSON TO WAYNE STREET - MICHIANA GOSPEL FEST Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic and Lighting, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Kimberly Staggers, Greater New Harvest O.M., 321 South Notre Dame Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to event on September 6, 2003 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION -TO CLOSE STREET - KENMORE FROM WESTERN TO JEFFERSON - LABOR DAY PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic & Lighting, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Shalena Jackson, 323 South Kenmore, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on August 31, 2003, from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - WELLINGTON FROM FORD TO DUNHAM - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic & Lighting, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Curtis Leonard, 721 South Wellington, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on September 6, 2003, from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - CALHOUN FROM MEADE TO KALEY - BIRTHDAY PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic & Lighting, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Alfreda Gillespie, 1301 North Meade, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on August 31, 2003, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - CARLISLE FROM FORD TO HURON Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic & Lighting, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Marcelo Ortiz, 606 South Carlisle, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on September 6, 2003, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr.
