PUBLIC AGENDA SESSION JULY 10, 2003 <br />The Public Agenda Session of the Board of Public Works was convened at 8:00 a.m. on July 10, <br />2003, by Mr. Carl P. Littrell witl) Mr. Donald E. Inks present. Board President Gary A Gilot was <br />not present. Also present was Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. Board of Public Works Clerk <br />Angela Jacob presented the Board with a proposed agenda of items presented by the public and by <br />City staff. <br />Board members discussed the following items) from that list. <br />- Bid Opening - Oliver Boiler House Window Replacement <br />Mr. Jason Durr, Engineering, stated that an Intent to Award may be requested at the regular <br />Board meeting. <br />- Bid Opening - Kinyon Street Improvements <br />Mr. Jason Durr, Engineering, stated there was a probability that this project would be <br />awarded at the same meeting after an Engineering review. <br />- Bid Award - Walnut/Euclid Control Structure Improvements <br />Mr. Jason Durr, Engineering, stated money is appropriated and the Notice to Proceed would <br />be issued in a week or so <br />- Request to Advertise for the Receipt of Bids <br />LaSalle Avenue Improvements <br />Westside Neighborhood Partnership Center <br />Near Westside Partnership Center <br />Rum Village Partnership Center <br />Near Westside Partnership Center <br />Mr. Jason Durr, Engineering, stated these six (6) curb and sidewalk projects will be ready <br />for bidding in the next week or two. <br />- Change Order and Project Completion Affidavit - Southeast Neighborhood Partnership Sanitary <br />Sewer Replacement <br />Mr. Jason Durr, Engineering, stated this project has been completed for the sewer <br />replacement in the Southeast Neighborhood. <br />- Change Order and Project Completion Affidavit - U.S. 31 Trunk Sewer Extension <br />Mr. Jason Durr, Engineering, stated this project installed a sewer extension in the Blackthorn <br />Villas. <br />- Project Completion Affidavit - St. Joseph County Jail Site Preparation <br />Mr. Jason Durr, Engineering, stated this project has been completed for the St. Joe County <br />Jail site. <br />- Authorization for Entry Upon Public Property for Drilling Purposes - Mishawaka Avenue <br />Mr. Jason Durr, Engineering, stated soil borings will be completed in the area of Mishawaka <br />Avenue and Ironwood. <br />- Authorization for Entry Upon Public Property for Drilling Purposes - Scott Street/United Drive <br />Mr. Thomas Bodnar, Legal Department, submitted the Authorization after discussion with <br />Paramount Services for the purpose oi soil borings and underwater soil pollution. <br />- Monthly Safety Reports <br />Mr. Jack Dillon, Environmental Services; Mr. Andy Wierzbicki, Water Works; Mr. Sam <br />Hensley, Street Department; and Mr. John Machowiak, Central Services, presented their <br />Monthly Safety reports for June 2003. <br />- Monthly Reports <br />Mr. Jack Dillon, Environmental Services and Mr. Andy Wierzbicki, Water Works, presented <br />their Monthly Reports for June 2003. <br />- Resolution No. 53-2003 - Authorizing the Transfer of Real Property to the Board of Park <br />Commissioners of the Park District of the City of South Bend <br />Mr. Marco Mariani, Planning Department, stated this Resolution transfers this property to <br />the City of South Bend. <br />- Residential Tax Abatement Consideration - 100-700 Blocks of Broadway <br />Mr. Marco Mariani, Planning Department, stated this Tax Abatement Consideration is for <br />the fifteen (15) City owned lots slated for improvements through American Home Dreams. <br />- Agreement - Phase I - Update of Long Terry.;: Control Plan for Combined Sewer Overflows <br />- Contract - Development of Long Term Control Plan for Combined Sewer Overflows <br />
