<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above Quotations were
<br />referred to the Division of Engineering for review and recommendation. After reviewing those
<br />quotations, Mr. Villa, Public Construction Manager, recommended that the Board award the contract
<br />to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, Walsh and Kelly, Inc., 24358 State Road 23, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $59,182.50. Therefore, Mr. Littrell made a motion that the
<br />recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Inks seconded the
<br />motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BID - ONE (1) MEDIUM DUTY CHASSIS - FIRE DEPARTMENT
<br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on March 24, 2003,
<br />one (1) bid was received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing the bid,
<br />Mr. Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the sole bidder, Wise International
<br />Trucks, Inc., 4849 Western, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $43,897.17 with trade-in.
<br />Therefore, Mr. Inks made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as
<br />outlined above. Mr. Gilot seconded the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BID - OLIVER BOILER HOUSE INTERIOR DEMOLITION - PROJECT NO 103 -027A
<br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, City Engineer, advised the Board that on April 7, 2003, bids were received and
<br />opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Gilot recommends that the
<br />Board award the contract to the lowest, responsible and responsive bidder, Bianchi Industrial
<br />Services, 208 Long Branch Road, Syracuse, New York, in the amount of $253,754.00. Therefore,
<br />Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined
<br />above. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which carried.
