<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried, the above bids were referred
<br />to Code Enforcement for review and recommendation.
<br />AWARD BID - 2003 CONCRETE REPAIRS - PROJECT NO. 103-021
<br />Mr. Toy V illa, Public Construction Manager, advised the Board that on February 24, 2003, bids were
<br />received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Villa
<br />recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder,
<br />Walsh & Kelly, Inc., 24358 State Road 23, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $169,308.00.
<br />Therefore, Mr. Inks made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as
<br />outlined above. Mr. Gilot seconded the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BIDS - 2003 GOOD NEIGHBORS PROGRAM - CURB, SIDEWALK AND
<br />APPROACH - ZONE 1 AND ZONE 2 - PROJECT NO. 103-022
<br />Mr. Toy Villa, Public Construction Manager, advised the Board that on February 24, 2003, bids were
<br />received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Villa
<br />recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest, responsible and responsive bidders,
<br />Northern Construction Services, Post Office Box 1299, Niles, Michigan, in the amount of
<br />213,433.00 for Zone 1; and Selge Construction, 2833 South I Itn Street, Niles, Michigan, for Zone
<br />2 in the amount of $179,200.00. Therefore, Mr. Littrell made a motion that the recommendation be
<br />accepted and the bids be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Gilot seconded the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BID - TEN (10) REAR WHEEL DRIVE POLICE VEHICLES
<br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on February 24, 2003, bids
<br />were received and opened for the above referred to vehicles. After reviewing those bids, Mr.
<br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible
<br />bidder, Jordan Automotive Group, 609 East Jefferson, Mishawaka, Indiana, in the amount of
<br />$20,095.00 per vehicle, for a total of $200,950.00. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the
<br />recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded the
<br />motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BID - FORTY-ONE (41) FRONT WHEEL DRIVE POLICE VEHICLES
<br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on February 24, 2003, bids
<br />were received and opened for the above referred to vehicles. After reviewing those bids, Mr.
<br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible
<br />bidder, Gurley Leep Dodge, 5302 North Grape Road, Mishawaka, Indiana in the amount of
<br />$698,136.52 Therefore, Mr. Inks made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid
<br />be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Gilot seconded the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BID - 2003 UNIFORM RENTAL - USER DEPARTMENTS
<br />Mr. George Zana, Central Purchasing, advised the Board that on February 24, 2003, bids were
<br />received and opened for the above referred to uniforms. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Zana
<br />recommends that the Board award the contract to Aramark Uniform Services,115 North First Street,
<br />Burbank, California as follows:
