REGULAR MEETING MAY 9, 2005 ! 54 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by. Mr. Inks and carried, the above <br />Quotations were referred to Community and Economic Development for review and <br />recommendation. <br />AWARD QUOTATION — LEIGHTON PLAZA — JEFFERSON STREET ENTRANCE <br />_APPROACH — PROJECT NO. 105-057 (FUND 420) <br />Mr. Toy Villa, Engineering, advised the Board that one (1) quotation was received and <br />opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing the quotation, Mr. Villa <br />recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible <br />bidder, Rieth Riley Construction, 25200 State Road 23, South Bend, Indiana, in the <br />amount of $6,750.00. It was noted that on July 1, 2004, this project was originally <br />awarded to Youngs Excavating, Inc., South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $12,246.00, <br />and at that time, funds were not available. The project was not completed. Therefore, <br />Mr. Inks made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the quotation be <br />awarded as outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion, which carried. <br />AWARD BID — 2005 CONCRETE PAVEMENT REPAIRS PROJECT NO. 105-033 <br />LRSA <br />Mr. Toy Villa, Engineering, advised the board that on April 25, 2005, bids were received <br />and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Villa <br />recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest, responsible and responsive <br />bidder, Kankakee Valley Construction Company, Inc., LaPorte, Indiana, in the amount of <br />$205,754.00. Therefore, Mr. Inks made a motion that the recommendation be accepted <br />and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion, which <br />carried. <br />AWARD BID — ONE (1) 20 CUBIC YARD PACKER — ENVIRONMENTAL <br />SERVICES (CAPITAL LEASE PURCHASE AGREEMENT) <br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Central Services, advised the board that on March 14, 2005, <br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing <br />those bids, Mr. Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest <br />responsible and responsive bidder, Deeds Equipment Company, 2203 North Michigan <br />Road, Plymouth, Indiana, in the amount of $135,001.00. Therefore, Mr. Inks made a <br />motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. <br />Mr. Littrell seconded the motion, which carried. <br />AWARD BID — ONE (1) % TON 2 WHEEL DRIVE PICK-UP TRUCK — CODE <br />ENFORCEMENT (CAPITAL LEASE PURCHASE AGREEMENT) <br />Mr. Lou Grounds, Central Services, advised the board that on April 25, 2005, bids were <br />received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, <br />Mr. Grounds recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and <br />responsible bidder, Gates Chevrolet, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $17,168.00. <br />Therefore, Mr. Inks made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be <br />awarded as outlined above. Mr. Gilot seconded the motion, which carried. <br />AWARD BID — THREE (3) ONE TON EXTENDED CARGO VANS — CODE <br />ENFORCEMENT (CAPITAL LEASE PURCHASE AGREEMENT) <br />Mr. Lou Grounds, Central Services, advised the board that on April 25, 2005, bids were <br />received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, <br />Mr. Grounds recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and <br />responsible bidder, <br />Jordan Ford, Mishawaka, Indiana, in the amount of $73,473.00. Therefore, Mr. Inks <br />made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined <br />above. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion, which carried. <br />AWARD BID — ONE (1) ONE TON CARGO VAN — ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES <br />(CAPITAL LEASE PURCHASE AGREEMENT) <br />Mr. Lou Grounds, Central Services, advised the board that on April 25, 2005, bids were <br />received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, <br />Mr. Grounds recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and <br />responsible bidder, Gates Chevrolet, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $17,787.00. <br />
