131 <br />1 <br />REGULAR MEETING APRIL 11, 2005 <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF PROPOSALS — <br />EPA BROWNFIELD GRANT GROUNDWATER CLEANUP — FORMER SOUTH <br />BEND STAMPING PLANT — PROJECT NO. 105-044 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Andy Laurent, Community and Economic <br />Development, requested permission to advertise for the receipt of proposals for the above <br />referred to project. Therefore, upod"a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. <br />Littrell, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS — <br />DONALD/FOX STREET STORM SEWER EXTENSION/TITLE SHEET — PROJECT <br />NO. 105-010 (SEWER BOND/WATER WORKS) <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Jason Duff, Engineering, requested permission to <br />advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. In addition, a Title <br />Sheet for this project was presented for approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids and the Title <br />Sheet were approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS — SALE OF <br />ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Ms. Kathy Eli, Department of Code Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for <br />the sale of approximately fifteen (15) abandoned vehicles, which are being stored at <br />Super Auto Salvage Corporation, 3300 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was <br />noted that all vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks <br />had been run for auto theft and the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF NOTIFICATION OF PRE -QUALIFIED POTENTIAL BIDDERS — <br />STUDEBAKER CORRIDOR PHASE I <br />Mr. Gilot noted that on February 28, 2005, applications were received to determine pre - <br />qualification of potential bidders for the above referred to project. The Proposals were <br />reviewed, and it was found that the following bidders qualified for potential bidders. <br />Adamo Demolition Company Bianchi Industrial Services LLC <br />Bierlein COmpanys, Inc. R&R Excavating) <br />In addition, it was found that the following bidders did not qualify: <br />American Demolition Corporation <br />D.M.D. Services <br />National Salvage & Service Corp., <br />North American Site Developers <br />Sabre Demolition Corporation <br />Cherry Moving Company <br />LVI Environmental Services, Inc. <br />North American Dismantling Corp. <br />S&R Corporation <br />Titan Wrecking & Environmental <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the notification of <br />pre -qualified bidders was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REVISED BID SUMMARY — SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Mr. Gary Libbey, Code Enforcement, submitted a revised highest bid summary from the <br />bid opening of March 15, 2005, and recommended approval, as follows: <br />
