~,, REGULAR MEETING MARCH 14.2007 RESOLUTION NO.11-2007 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY REGARDING CONTRACTS FOR SERVICES WHEREAS, the Board of Public Safety is in charge of the Police and Fire Departments of the City of South Bend, pursuant to I.C. 36-8-3-2; and ' WHEREAS, the Department of Administration and Finance of the City of South Bend has adopted a Purchasing Policy for the City of South Bend; and WHEREAS, on the attached page 12, paragraph 5 of the Purchasing Policy, the Board in charge of a particular department has the authority to authorize an employee to sign contracts on behalf of the Board; and WHEREAS, the Board recognizes that it is in the best interest of all parties that service contracts be promptly executed when necessary. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC.SAFETY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND that: 1. The Chief of Police of South Bend and the Chief of the Services Division of the South Bend Police Department are authorized to sign service contracts in amounts up to twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00) on behalf of the Board of Public Safety for the purchase of services by the South Bend Police Department; 2. The Chief of the Fire Department of South Bend and the Chief of the Services Division of ' the South Bend Fire Department are authorized to sign service contracts in amounts up to twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00) on behalf of the Board of Public Safety for the purchase of services by the South Bend Fire Department; 3. Persons authorized by this resolution to sign on behalf of the Board shall comply with the requirements set forth in the Department of Administration and Finance Purchasing Policy and is all cases shall submit the contract to the Controller for approval prior to execution.
