~~~ <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION NOVEMBER 8.2006 <br />The Board of Public Safety met in Executive Session on Wednesday, November 8, 2006, at 8:35 <br />a.m. The meeting was held in the Mayor's Conference Room, 14th Floor, County City Building, <br />South Bend, Indiana, for the purposes specified in I.C. 5-14-1.5-6.1 (b) (2) (B) and (b) (6) (A). <br />President Jesusa Rodriguez and Board Members Juanita Dempsey, Bruce J. BonDurant and <br />Patrick Cottrell were present. Mr. Donald Alford was not present. Also present were Police Chief <br />Thomas Fautz, Fire Chief Luther Taylor and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. Martin, C rk <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 8, 2006 <br />1 <br />1 <br />The Board of Public Safety met in the regular meeting at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, November 8, <br />2006, with President Jesusa Rodriguez and Board Members Juanita Dempsey, Bruce J. <br />BonDurant and Patrick D. Cottrell present. Mr. Donald Alford was not present. Also present <br />were Police Chief Thomas Fautz, Fire Chief Luther Taylor and Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. <br />The meeting was held in the Board of Public Works Meeting Room, 13th Floor, County City <br />Building, South Bend, Indiana. <br />ACCEPT MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. BonDurant, seconded by Mr. Alford and carried, the minutes of the <br />Public Agenda Session, Executive Session, and Regular meetings of the Board held on October <br />25, 2006 were accepted. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST FOR LEAVE OF ABSENCE - CORPORAL ANNE <br />SCHELLINGER <br />In a letter to the Board, Chief Fautz requested that Corporal Anne Schellinger be granted a paid <br />extended medical leave of forty three (43) calendar days from November 14, 2006 to December <br />26, 2006. Upon a motion made by Mr. Cottrell, seconded by Ms. Dempsey and carried, the <br />request for leave of absence was approved. <br />EMPLOYEES OF THE MONTH <br />- SERGEANT CYNTHIA KILGORE <br />-CORPORAL DAVID MODLIN <br />Sergeant Cynthia Kilgore and Corporal David Modlin were selected as Employees of the Month. <br />The award is to recognize officers or civilian employees on the South Bend Police Department <br />who have demonstrated actions noted by supervisors or citizens from both a professional law <br />enforcement position and in support of the community policing efforts with citizens of South <br />Bend. Chief Fautz noted Sergeant Kilgore and Corporal Modlin have done a tremendous job on <br />^ <br />
