REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 27, 2006 <br />ACCEPT DONATION <br />Chief Thomas Fautz stated the South Bend Fire Department, on behalf of the Crime Prevention <br />Unit, received a check from TRIAD of St. Joseph County in the amount of $450.00. TRIAD <br />requested the money be used to pay expenses associated with the National Night Out event. <br />There being no further discussion, the donation was accepted. <br />FILING OF MONTHLY STATISTICAL ANALYSIS REPORT -AUGUST 2006 <br />President Rodriguez indicated that unless there were questions or objections by members of the <br />Board, the statistical analysis report for the month of August 2006 as submitted by the Police <br />r ~ Department would be accepted for filing. Chief Fautz noted the statistics had dropped, however, <br />burglaries are still the focus of concern. The award is to <br />recognize officers or civilian employees on the South Bend Police Department who have <br />demonstrated actions noted by supervisors or citizens from both a professional law enforcement <br />position and in support of the community policing efforts with citizens of South Bend. Chief <br />Fautz noted Corporal Krueger is a fine officer and orchestrated ananti-suicide campaign. There <br />being no further discussion, the recommendation was accepted and filed. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />ACCEPT AND APPROVE HIRING LIST FOR 2007-2008 <br />Fire Chief Luther Taylor submitted the final Hiring List for 2007-2008. Chief Taylor explained <br />the ranking was derived from a combination of 50% written test scores, 50% oral interviewing <br />and enhancement points per Resolution No. 44-2006. In addition, all candidates on the list <br />passed the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT). The list consists of a total of 98 candidates, <br />will become effective January 1, 2007 and will be used to hire firefighters and/or Paramedics <br />until the list is either depleted or considered obsolete. Chief Taylor noted he is confident this list <br />contains very good individuals.
