REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 27, 2006 ACCEPT DONATION Chief Thomas Fautz stated the South Bend Fire Department, on behalf of the Crime Prevention Unit, received a check from TRIAD of St. Joseph County in the amount of $450.00. TRIAD requested the money be used to pay expenses associated with the National Night Out event. There being no further discussion, the donation was accepted. FILING OF MONTHLY STATISTICAL ANALYSIS REPORT -AUGUST 2006 President Rodriguez indicated that unless there were questions or objections by members of the Board, the statistical analysis report for the month of August 2006 as submitted by the Police r ~ Department would be accepted for filing. Chief Fautz noted the statistics had dropped, however, burglaries are still the focus of concern. The award is to recognize officers or civilian employees on the South Bend Police Department who have demonstrated actions noted by supervisors or citizens from both a professional law enforcement position and in support of the community policing efforts with citizens of South Bend. Chief Fautz noted Corporal Krueger is a fine officer and orchestrated ananti-suicide campaign. There being no further discussion, the recommendation was accepted and filed. FIRE DEPARTMENT ACCEPT AND APPROVE HIRING LIST FOR 2007-2008 Fire Chief Luther Taylor submitted the final Hiring List for 2007-2008. Chief Taylor explained the ranking was derived from a combination of 50% written test scores, 50% oral interviewing and enhancement points per Resolution No. 44-2006. In addition, all candidates on the list passed the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT). The list consists of a total of 98 candidates, will become effective January 1, 2007 and will be used to hire firefighters and/or Paramedics until the list is either depleted or considered obsolete. Chief Taylor noted he is confident this list contains very good individuals. Upon a motion made by Mr. Alford, seconded by Mr. BonDurant and carried, the Hiring List for 2007-2008 was accepted and approved. FILING OF MONTHLY STATISTICAL REPORT -AUGUST 2006 Chief Luther Taylor submitted to the Board the monthly report for the month of August 2006 compiled by the Prevention/Inspection Bureau of the Fire Department.
