.,-F <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />SEPTEMBER 6.2006 <br />ACCEPT AND APPROVE RETIREMENT -CAPTAIN JOEL WOLVOS <br />President Rodriguez advised that Chief Thomas Fautz has submitted to the Board the <br />Application and Declaration for Retirement for Captain Joel Wolvos effective September 5, <br />2006. Chief Fautz noted that has served the Department with loyalty and distinction during the <br />last thirty-six (36) years, one (1) month and nineteen (19) days. Chief Fautz joined the Board in <br />thanking him for his commitment, dedication and years of distinguished service to the South <br />Bend Police Department and the citizens of South Bend. Members also wished him a long and <br />happy retirement. Upon a motion made by. Mr. Alford, seconded by Mr. BonDurant and carried, <br />the retirement was accepted and approved. <br />ACCEPT AND FILE DONATIONS TO SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Chief Thomas Fautz advised the Board of generous donations made to the South Bend Police <br />Department. This money was donated to the South Bend Police Department K-9 Unit by the <br />following businesses and individuals in the community: <br />NAME AMOUNT <br />Mr. and Mrs. McGinnis $137.00 <br />Midwest K9 Trainin ,Inc. $137.00 <br />Universit Park Veterinary _ <br />$]37.00 <br />Dr. Klo enstine $137.00 <br />Pet Su lies Plus $137.00 <br />Kuert Concrete $137.00 <br />KADA Partnershi $137.00 <br />FOP 36 $137.00 <br />There being no further discussion, the donations were accepted and filed. <br />ACCEPT AND FILE DONATION TO SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Chief Thomas Fautz advised the Board a generous donation of $200.00 was made to the South <br />Bend Police Department by the Community Leadership Council and $50.00 by the River Park <br />Neighborhood Association. This donation was directed to go towards expenses associated with <br />the National Night Out event. There being no further discussion, the donation was accepted and <br />filed. <br />Chief Fautz distributed a Police Department organization chart, CALEA information, and a <br />brochure on a boxing program to the Board.
