SPECIAL PROCLAMATION NO. 06-2026
A SPECIAL PROCLAMATION HONORING THE TENURE OF JORDAN GATHERS EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR OF VENUES PARKS & ARTS
Whereas, the South Bend Common Council recognizes the vital role that parks, public spaces, and cultural venues
play in strengthening the quality of life, economic vitality, and community spirit of our City; and
Whereas, Jordan Gathers has faithfully served as Executive Director of Venues Parks & Arts, demonstrating
visionary leadership, professionalism, and a deep commitment to the residents of South Bend; and
Whereas, during his tenure, Jordan Gathers has worked diligently to enhance the accessibility, beauty, and
functionality of South Bend’s parks, recreational facilities, and public venues, ensuring that they remain
welcoming spaces for all; and
Whereas, his leadership has contributed to the growth and innovation of community programming, the stewardship
of public resources, and the strengthening of partnerships that benefit neighborhoods across the City; and
Whereas, Jordan Gathers has exemplified a spirit of service, collaboration, and forward-thinking that has left a
lasting and positive impact on the City of South Bend; and
Whereas, his dedication has helped elevate Venues Parks & Arts as a cornerstone of community engagement,
wellness, and cultural enrichment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, that the South Bend Common Council hereby extends its
sincere gratitude and appreciation to Jordan Gathers for his outstanding service and leadership as Executive
Director of Venues Parks & Arts.
BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED, that we commend him for his contributions to the growth and vitality of
our City and wish him continued success in all future endeavors.
