South Bend Common Council Statement on Stadium Flats Fire
The South Bend Common Council extends our thoughts and prayers to the residents of Diamond
View Apartments who were evacuated following the fire at the Stadium Flats construction site
downtown.
We are grateful to the South Bend Fire Department and all first responders for their quick and
courageous response, which helped prevent the fire from spreading to surrounding properties.
While Stadium Flats was still under construction and not yet occupied, we recognize the disruption
and concern this incident caused for nearby residents and our downtown community. We will
continue to monitor the situation as the cause of the fire is investigated.
