Description of Proposed Work:
Scope of Work – Back Porch Roof Repair, Gutter Installation, and Wood Repair
The existing flat roof over the back porch (approximately 20x7 feet) is compromised and allowing water
penetration. The project will begin with the removal of the existing flat roof membrane, drip edge, and
gutter to expose the roof deck. Once opened, the decking will be inspected for damage—some wood repair
is expected due to visible deterioration near the corner, though the full extent cannot be determined until
the roof is exposed. After inspection, new Fiber/ISO board insulation and a fully adhered roofing
membrane will be installed, wrapping the membrane around all edges and sealing it with new drip edge
and cover tape for a watertight finish. Because the roof ties into the house wall, the bottom layer of cedar
shake siding will be cut to allow the membrane to run up the wall, ensuring proper waterproofing.
Depending on how the siding responds, additional work may be required, potentially affecting the price.
Any necessary decking repair or siding adjustment will be reviewed with the homeowner before
proceeding.
In addition, new seamless 5-inch K-style gutters with downspouts will be professionally installed, including
all required brackets, hangers, and hardware for proper drainage. Gutter guards will also be added to
prevent debris buildup and maintain consistent water flow.
Minor wood repairs will be completed on the front and left (north) sides of the house. On the front, rotted
fascia trim will be cut out, treated, rebuilt with high-strength wood epoxy, sanded, and painted white to
match existing trim. On the left side, a new 1x6 fascia board will be installed under the gutter, caulked, and
painted to ensure a uniform appearance. Paint color will be matched as closely as possible, though slight
3
variations may occur due to weathering.
Finally, a 10-yard dumpster will be provided for debris removal, covering up to three tons of material. If
debris exceeds this weight, an additional charge of $40 per ton will apply.

Description:
The existing flat roof over the back porch approx (20x7) is compromised and allowing water to penetrate.
We’ll begin by carefully removing the existing flat roof membrane, drip edge, and gutter to expose the
underlying roof deck. Once opened, we’ll inspect the deck for damage — given the age of the home and
visible deterioration near the corner, some wood repair will likely be required. The exact amount of repair
needed can’t be determined until the roof is opened. After inspection, we’ll install new Fiber/ISO board
insulation and a fully adhered roofing membrane, wrapping the membrane around all edges and sealing with
new drip edge and cover tape for a watertight finish.
Because the roof ties into the house wall, we’ll also cut the bottom layer of cedar shake siding to allow the
membrane to run up the wall, ensuring proper waterproofing. Depending on how the siding reacts during this
process, additional work may be needed which could affect the price.
• Final price may change depending on the extent of wood damage or how the siding reacts during the
membrane installation. Any necessary decking repair or siding adjustment will be reviewed with the
homeowner before proceeding.
Work Scope:
• Remove existing flat roof membrane, drip edge, and gutter
• Inspect roof decking for water damage and replace as needed
• Install new Fiber/ISO board insulation and glue down new membrane
• Wrap membrane around edges and seal with new drip edge
• Install cover tape at seams and edges for full waterproof seal
• Cut bottom course of cedar siding to extend membrane up the wall for protection
