Kerr, PhD, PE, City Engineer <br />RE: 116-021 — Courtyard by Marriott by Hall of Fame — Review of Bids <br />Dear Mr. Kerr: <br />We have reviewed the Itemized Proposal of both Bidders on the Courtyard by Marriott by Hall of Fame project. <br />I have attached the Bid Tabulation form to this letter. <br />We identified one mathematical errors on both submitted bids. The Majority Builders, Inc. submitted bid has <br />one error and was under Item 44 — Sanitary Manhole. The total amount was incorrectly calculated, apparently <br />due not multiplying the provided unit price of $3,543.00 'to the two identified structure quantities. Revised <br />calculations increased the Majority Builders, Inc. bid by $3,543.00. <br />Rieth-Riley Construction Company submitted bid has eight error under Items 22 through 29. The total amounts <br />for these items were incorrectly calculated based on the unit prices provided. Since it is understood that the <br />unit prices provided in submittal bids take precedence over the total amount, the revised calculation increased <br />the Rieth-Riley Construction Company bid by $3,081,803.68 <br />Based on our review of the submittal proposals, it is our engineering opinion that Majority Builders, Inc. has <br />submitted the lowest responsive Bid for the Courtyard by Marriott by Hall of Fame Phase 1 project.
