REGULAR MEETING JULY 13, 2009 Reading on July 27, 2009. Councilmember Oliver Davis seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of eight (8) ayes. UNFINISHED BUSINESS REPORTS FROM THE BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS BILL NO. 09-52 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, APPROVING A PETITION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 527 ½ RIVERSIDE DRIVE BILL NO. 09-53 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, APPROVING A PETITION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 220 S. TAYLOR STREET, SOUTH BEND, INDIANA BILL NO. 09-54 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, APPROVING A PETITION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 3423 SOUTH MICHIGAN STREET WITH CONTIGUOUS VACANT LAND Councilmember Puzzello made a motion to refer Bill Nos. 09-52; 09-53 and 09-54 to the Zoning and Annexation Committee and set them for Public Hearing and Third Reading on July 27, 2009. NEW BUSINESS Councilmember Henry Davis stated that he attend the 2009 Gospel Expo on Friday, July 10, 2009 at the Blue Herron at Blackthorn. He stated there was good fellowship between the African American Community and the event was well attended. St. Joseph County Democratic Chairman Butch Morgan was the welcoming speaker. He stated that everyone had a great time. He also stated that he attending the opening of the "Lincoln the man you did not know." exhibit at the Studebaker Museum, on Tuesday, June 30, 2009. He stated that there was a presentation from Jan Shupert-Arick (Lincoln Highway Committee), Andrew Beckman Archivist, Becky Bonham, Executive Director, Studebaker Museum. He stated that it was truly awesome, period costumes were worn and songs were sung from the 1800’s, by Jill Van Lew. He stated that Richard Murdock, Indiana State Treasurer was in attendance and the keynote speaker. Mark McDonald was the master of ceremony and he is the president of the Board of Trustees. He encouraged everyone to stop by the museum and view the exhibit. PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR There was no one present wishing to speak to the Council at this time. 34
