South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Rescheduled Regular Meeting -July 14, 2009 <br />7. PROGRESS REPORTS <br />Mr. Inks noted that Mr. Kain today will be filing a PROGRESS REPORTS <br />variance for the sign authorized by the Commission at <br />the coiner of Hill and Colfax. Subsequent to <br />Conunission approval, it was determined that a variance <br />would be needed. <br />Mr. Inks repotted on the East Bank Plan Phase IL That <br />neighborhood is now being refen•ed to as the Howard <br />Park neighborhood, which is bounded by Jefferson, the <br />river and Eddy St. on the east. Very little of that <br />neighborhood falls within the boundaries of the South <br />Bend Central Development Area. Out intent was to <br />formalize the Howard Park Neighborhood Plan and <br />make it pant of the South Bend Central Development <br />Area Development Plan. Therefore, we have an interest <br />in expanding the South Bend Central Development Area <br />boundaries so that they will be coterminous with the <br />Howard Park Neighborhood boundaries. Staff intends <br />to bring forward a declaratory resolution at the next <br />meeting. Under the new state law, in addition to <br />approval by the Area Plan Commission and Common <br />Council, this expansion will have to be approved by the <br />Indiana Economic Development Corporation. <br />8. NEXT COMMISSION MEETING <br />The next meeting of the Redevelopment Commission is NExT COMMISSION tvtEETiNc <br />scheduled for Friday, July 24, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. <br />9.
