REGULAR MEETING MAY 12, 2008 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />BILL NO. 08-42 A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE <br /> ADOPTION OF A DECLARATORY <br /> RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CERTAIN <br /> AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br /> INDIANA, COMMONLY KNOWN AS 701 <br /> SOUTH GRANT STREET AND 601 COTTAGE <br /> GROVE AVENUE AS RESIDENTIALLY <br /> DISTRESSED AREAS FOR PURPOSES OF A <br /> FIVE (5) YEAR RESIDENTIAL REAL <br /> PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT FOR HABITAT <br /> FOR HUMANITY <br /> <br />Councilmember White made a motion to continue this bill until the May 27, 2008 <br />meeting of the Council due to the lack of a presenter. Councilmember Dieter seconded <br />the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br /> <br /> <br />BILL NO. 08-43 A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE <br /> ADOPTION OF A DECLARATORY <br /> RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CERTAIN <br /> AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br /> INDIANA, COMMONLY KNOWN AS 1433 <br /> NORTHSIDE BOULEVARD AS AN ECONOMIC <br /> REVITALIZATION AREA FOR PURPOSES OF <br /> A TWO (2) YEAR REAL PROPERTY TAX <br /> ABATEMENT FOR RIVER ROCK, <br /> INCORPORATED <br /> <br />Councilmember Oliver Davis made a motion to continue this bill until the May 27, 2008 <br />meeting of the Council at the request of the petitioner. Councilmember Puzzello <br />seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3863-08 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br /> DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN THE <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br /> COMMONLY KNOWN AS 1401 NORTH MAIN <br /> STREET AN ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION <br /> AREA FOR PURPOSES OF A (5) FIVE-YEAR <br />ST <br /> REAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT FOR 1 <br /> SOURCE LAND TRUST #13, ROBERT F. <br /> JAGGER, D/B/A OLD FORT BUILDING <br /> SUPPLY OF SOUTH BEND, INC. <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a petition for real property tax abatement has been filed with the City <br />Clerk for consideration by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana <br />requesting that the area commonly known as 1401 South Main Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana, and which is more particularly described as follows: <br /> <br />th <br />Lot 2 Studebaker Corridor 5 Minor Sub <br /> <br />and which has Key Number 18-8005-0230 at this point and time, be designated as an <br />Economic Revitalization Area under the provisions of Indiana Code § 6-1.1-12.1 et seq., <br />and South Bend Municipal Code Sections 2-76 et seq., and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Community and Economic Development has <br />concluded an investigation and prepared a report with information sufficient for the <br />Common Council to determine that the area qualifies as an Economic Revitalization Area <br />under Indiana Code § 6-1.1-12.1, et seq., and South Bend Municipal Code Sections 2-76, <br /> 8 <br /> <br />
