Kostielney, President G\\ pr ir IQ Email Address of Requestor: 574-235-9534 (j( V V Please provide a brief description of WHY your county is requesting a route deviation: The revised route provides more exposure throughout our communities(both cities and towns) and highlights historical or significant aspects of our community, including Lincoln Highway, University of Notre Dame, Bendix Woods Park largest living sign that spells Studebaker using Evergreen trees covering 13 acres, Beutter Park in Mishawaka on the former Uniroyal site, and downtown South Bend. Please describe the alternate route you are proposing, including turn by turn directions(can include on additional page if needed,please attach map)**: These are just the driving directions, many of these areas,we will have a torch bearer go"off road"or provide an opportunity for switching the torch, i.e.use the Riverwalk Trail instead of the road or go on ND campus and meet back up with the caravan. The proposed route provides a caravan route for the torch to hit all of the areas. • Turn Left on SR 23 5.9 miles (same as proposed, now start deviation) • Arrive at North Liberty • Turn right on State Rd 4(called E. Center Street in North Liberty) 8.0 miles • Arrive at Lakeville (includes a torch switch/bearer opportunity at Newton Park at the corner of SR 4& Old US 31 in Lakeville) • Continue on SR 41.2 miles and Turn left onto US 31 N Ramp toward South Bend 6.4 miles • Turn Right(merge) onto US 20/31 By-Pass East toward Mishawaka 4 miles • Take Mishawaka/Bremen Hwy Exit, merge into ramp—Turn Left onto Bremen Highway • Stay on Bremen Hwy-becomes Union Street, then Church Street, then Main Street 2.84 miles • Arrive at Mishawaka • Turn Left onto Front Street(provides torch switch/bearer opportunity to use Mishawaka Riverwalk system) 0.19 miles • Turn Left onto Hill Street(Roundabout Intersection)0.13 miles • Turn Right onto SR 933-Lincolnway (Historic Lincoln Highway) 1.66 miles • Turn Right onto Ironwood Road 0.33 miles • Turn Left onto Northside Blvd (provides torch switch or bearer opportunity to use South Bend Riverwalk System and have visibility along St.Joseph River& IUSB campus) 1.27 miles • Turn Right onto Eddy Street/Beyer Avenue/Longfellow Avenue 0.18 miles • Turn Right onto Mishawaka Avenue 0.38 miles • Turn Left into Twyckenham Blvd 1.97 miles
