COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS <br /> Celebration <br /> *Brainstorm and recommend celebration ideas <br /> •Identify and secure celebration entertainment and other activities <br /> *Secure and manage food and beverage vendors <br /> •Identify appropriate speakers,including county dignitaries,media members, and other VIP's <br /> *Develop scripting for public remarks <br /> *Form team to assist with onsite operational details, including set-up, tear-down,vendor management, <br /> etc. <br /> Public Relations&Marketing <br /> *Encourage torchbearer nominations <br /> *Highlight statewide Bicentennial programming <br /> •Promote county celebration festivities <br /> *Engage a variety of media outlets including social media,print,local media, etc. <br /> Public Works&Safety <br /> *Understand full route from county entry to exit <br /> •Work with Indiana State Police to provide route accommodations as needed <br /> •Ensure appropriate public safety plans are in place for county celebrations <br /> Torchbearers <br /> *Brainstorm creative torch modes of transportation and other torchbearer opportunities <br /> •Work with County Coordinator and the Indiana Bicentennial Torch Relay leadership to understand the <br /> torchbearer nomination process <br /> *Share nomination information with PR&Marketing team for county promotion <br /> *Collect all torchbearer nominations and facilitate review process <br /> *Develop torchbearer recommendations and submit to Indiana Bicentennial Torch Relay leadership <br /> *Serve as onsite liaison to torchbearers, as needed, during the torch's span in the county <br /> Volunteers <br /> *Actively recruit volunteers to assist with the county celebrations <br /> *Utilize The Registration System to schedule and confirm volunteers <br /> *Oversee volunteer training in advance of the festivities <br /> *Provide onsite management of volunteers <br /> 33 <br />
