REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 25, 2013 <br /> Community Investment Committee that the area herein described be designated as an Economic <br /> Revitalization Area and hereby adopts a Resolution designating this area as an Economic <br /> Revitalization Area for purposes of real property tax abatement. <br /> SECTION V. The designation as an Economic Revitalization Area shall be limited to two (2) <br /> calendar years from the date of the adoption of this Resolution by the Common Council. <br /> SECTION VI. The Common Council hereby determines that the property owner is qualified for <br /> and is granted property tax deduction for a period of(5) five years as shown by the attachment <br /> pursuant to Indiana Code 6-1.1-12.1-17. <br /> SECTION VII. The Common Council directs the City Clerk to cause notice of the adoption of <br /> this Declaratory Resolution for Real Property Tax Abatement to be published pursuant to Indiana <br /> Code § 5-3-1 and Indiana Code § 6-1.1-12.1-2.5, said publication providing notice of the public <br /> hearing before the Common Council on the proposed confirming of said declaration. <br /> SECTION VIII. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by <br /> the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. <br /> s/Derek D. Dieter <br /> Member of the Common Council <br /> Councilmember Gavin Ferlic, Chairperson, Community Investment Committee, reported that <br /> this committee held a Public Hearing on this bill this afternoon and voted to send it to the full <br /> Council with a favorable recommendation. <br /> Dave Matthew, 215 E. Colfax Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, Member, East Bank South Bend <br /> Development, LLC, advised that he intends to construct a five-story mixed use building, 16,000 <br /> square feet, four (4) 1-bedroom; four (4) 2-bedroom and four (4) 3-bedroom condo like <br /> apartments. <br /> A Public Hearing was held on the Resolution at this time. <br /> • <br /> There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in opposition to <br /> this Resolution, Councilmember Oliver Davis made a motion to adopt this Resolution. <br /> Councilmember Schey seconded the motion which carried and the Resolution was adopted by a <br /> roll call vote of eight (8) ayes. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 4300-13 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF <br /> THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND DESIGNATING <br /> CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH <br /> BEND, INDIANA, COMMONLY KNOWN AS 1106 20`h <br /> STREET, 1112 20TH STREET AND 2007 NORTHSIDE <br /> BLVD AN ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREA FOR <br /> PURPOSES OF A (9) NINE-YEAR REAL PROPERTY <br /> TAX ABATEMENT FOR MECCA COMPANIES, INC. <br /> WHEREAS, a petition for real property tax abatement has been filed with the City Clerk <br /> for consideration by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, requesting that the <br /> area commonly known as 1106 20th Street, 1112 20`h Street, and 2007 North Side Blvd., South <br /> Bend, Indiana, and which is more particularly described as follows: <br /> PARCEL I: Lot Numbered One (1) and a lot or parcel of land 38.35 feet in width, <br /> North and South, taken off of and <br /> from the entire length of the North side of Lot Numbered Two (2) all as shown on the recorded <br /> Plat of Riverview <br /> Subdivision in the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. <br /> PARCEL II: Lots Numbered Thirty (30) and Thirty-one (31) as shown on the recorded <br /> Plat of B.F.
