REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 11, 2013 <br /> BILL NO. 65-13 FIRST READING ON A BILL OF THE <br /> COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br /> BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 4, <br /> ARTICLE 4 OF THE SOUTH BEND <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE INCLUSION OF <br /> NEW SECTION 4-21 ENTITLED BUSKERS <br /> AND SIDEWALK PERFORMERS <br /> This bill had first reading. Councilmember White made a motion to refer this bill to the Health <br /> &Public Safety Committee and Personnel & Finance Committee and set it for Public Hearing <br /> and Third Reading on December 9, 2013. Councilmember Scott seconded the motion which <br /> carried by a voice vote of eight (8) ayes. <br /> BILL NO. 66-13 FIRST READING ON A BILL OF THE <br /> COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br /> BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 2, <br /> ARTICLE 8, SECTION 2-121 (a) OF THE SOUTH <br /> BEND MUNICIPAL CODE TO REINSTATE <br /> ONE NON-DESIGNATED HOLIDAY <br /> This bill had first reading. Councilmember Dieter made a motion to refer this bill to the <br /> Personnel & Finance Committee and set it for Public Hearing and Third Reading on November <br /> 25, 2013. Councilmember Gavin Ferlic seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of <br /> eight (8) ayes. <br /> UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> Councilmember Henry Davis Jr. stated that there needs to be a website that would be able to <br /> capture job availability for the company's requesting tax abatement and creating jobs. We need <br /> to make sure that the information is out there and accessible. He also advised that we need to tell <br /> our own story; we need to drive that conversation that we are business friendly and communicate <br /> that to businesses. <br /> Dr. Ferlic stated that the Chamber does a good job. They have the utmost respect for the City. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> There was no new business to come before the Council at this time. <br /> PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR <br /> There was no one present wishing to speak to the Council at this time. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business to come before the Council, President Derek D.
