REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 10, 2014 <br />Council Member Dr. Ferlic the Parks and Recreation committee met this afternoon and send 14- <br />12 to the full council for favorable recommendation <br />Steve Nemeth: I would like to thank Mr. Russell for putting this together for us. I think this will <br />help us with applying for grants in the future. <br />Christopher Huff- 1831 Colleague St.- Approximately 9 months ago, I was up here ranting about <br />the condition of city cemetery, since the time I've been working with the committee Steve the <br />Director of the parks department, Felicia... I did not prepare the foundation forum or program <br />but absolutely in favor of it as this is one method of protecting the integrity of the historic portion <br />of the cemetery. As everything that catches up with that, we hope to see very significant changes <br />to the condition and the celebration of patrimony on the community and additional <br />improvements to the surrounding neighborhood so I highly recommend that you approve it. The <br />tourism division in the chamber of commerce has signed off on it in favor and are very <br />supportive of it. <br />A Public Hearing was now held. <br />There being no one present wishing to speak in opposition to this bill, Councilmember White <br />made a motion to move for the favorable adoption of this resolution. Councilmember Varner <br />seconded the motion which carried and the resolution was adopted by a roll call vote of eight (8) <br />ayes. <br />BILL NO. 14 -13 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AND THE <br />SOUTH BEND COMMUNITY SCHOOL <br />CORPORATION JOINTLY OPPOSING LEGISLATION <br />REDUCING OR ELIMINATING BUSINESS <br />PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES WITHIN THE STATE <br />OF INDIANA <br />30 <br />
