REGULAR MEETING
FEBRUARY 10, 2014
Council Member Dr. Ferlic the Parks and Recreation committee met this afternoon and send 14-
12 to the full council for favorable recommendation
Steve Nemeth: I would like to thank Mr. Russell for putting this together for us. I think this will
help us with applying for grants in the future.
Christopher Huff- 1831 Colleague St.- Approximately 9 months ago, I was up here ranting about
the condition of city cemetery, since the time I've been working with the committee Steve the
Director of the parks department, Felicia... I did not prepare the foundation forum or program
but absolutely in favor of it as this is one method of protecting the integrity of the historic portion
of the cemetery. As everything that catches up with that, we hope to see very significant changes
to the condition and the celebration of patrimony on the community and additional
improvements to the surrounding neighborhood so I highly recommend that you approve it. The
tourism division in the chamber of commerce has signed off on it in favor and are very
supportive of it.
A Public Hearing was now held.
There being no one present wishing to speak in opposition to this bill, Councilmember White
made a motion to move for the favorable adoption of this resolution. Councilmember Varner
seconded the motion which carried and the resolution was adopted by a roll call vote of eight (8)
ayes.
BILL NO. 14 -13 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AND THE
SOUTH BEND COMMUNITY SCHOOL
CORPORATION JOINTLY OPPOSING LEGISLATION
REDUCING OR ELIMINATING BUSINESS
PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES WITHIN THE STATE
OF INDIANA
30
